Unboxing Restore Finds: Wok for the Kang bed-stove heater and new Well Water pail?

So I was about to leave and figured I better do a "once over" - suddenly remembering I needed a wok and sure enough the ReStore had ONE wok....

Crucially it has a lid. And so to order this through the mail - the only real means of finding it - would have been probably  $30. This was $6.50

The other nice thing - this wok has a very definitive "edge" to it - so I can make a "rim" out of lime mortar or whatever - and that will be wider than the bottom of the wok but still check the wok to hold it. And then the hole will be wide enough for my Silverfire Survivor stove to fit through the hole...

OH here is the final test. How WIDE is the Silverfire Survivor stove?

Cast Iron Cook Top Diameter:  9 ¼” / 18 cm
strange - doesn't give the stove width but I guess it varies kind of.

So the Wok "rim" is over 11 inches. We should be good - the goal is to be able to PULL the Survivor stove OUT from the "fire box" - while the wok is covering the hole.

Yeah that front part of the stove doesn't look much wider than the cast iron top - maybe just over an inch.

OK so the fire box will look like this:

Only there will be a wall separation - to keep the smoke out.

OK -  so the Wok should work! It will be a close fit but that's ok. The smaller the fire box the better - I don't have a lot of space to work with.

Next item....

I can't remember if this is the right one - but it's the same thing only it's 6 inches wide and 8 inches tall. The problem is, although it's ceramic - it still FLOATS. So I need to have a rock or weight attached to the bottom via the harness.... But this is definitely BIGGER than the 12 ounce mug - so that will save me a lot of effort and time in pulling up the well rope....

There's the well hole that I dug with a hand auger - so it's about 20 feet deep but a metal rod broke off since I was trying to drive it into too much pea gravel. I underestimated the cubic volume conversion... So I'm not even sure if this well will keep giving me enough water - already it's down to just a few gallons recharge per day, until I hit the metal rod.

So I might have to dig a whole other well - which will be my third well. The 2nd one got filled in by the run off water as I dug the well in the runoff ditch. I didn't realize the runoff water would have so much soil with it....

So that was about a 12 ounce mug. I don't need a lot of water and in the spring the water in the well is very high up. So it is easy to haul it out. But no longer.

Now I'll go look for weights and cordage or straps or whatever to make a harness.

The other issue is - ok so I get a few gallons but those 8 inches cover at least ONE gallon of water! I remember I was "hitting" the pipe - that's how I knew the cup was sinking into the water - fully. I didn't realize I was on the verge of breaking the mug. The water broke the fall but when the water got too low and I could not believe it was the bottom - at first I could not pull up a full cup. So I dropped it a couple more times with more speed to get the mug to sink better. SMASH!!

Since this is a SET of ceramic - that means I could use the smaller sizes as I work my way down into the last gallon. Kind of desperate but a gallon of water is actually a lot to drink.

I just need to make more than one harness with more than one weight.

If I dig a new well then it won't have gravel in the bottom nor a metal pipe - so I would get a few extra feet - maybe five more feet of recharge water. So it's probably worth the extra effort. Then I can use this new "bucket" to its best advantage.

I should measure HOW much water I can get out of this.

Digging a well is a TON of work - so if I can get TWO gallons a day with this new bucket - that's fine by me. I'll be very happy with that - I mean from now on through the winter. If I get ONE gallon a day - I can survive on that. It's not ideal. But oh well. I can always bring water from civilization "for now."....

When the bucket hits the water it dips and fills, and is pulled up with the rope.
Yeah - maybe. I don't have much width room.

So it tends to float more than dip.

The bucket is supposed to be "plunged" down the well with the face of the bucket pointing down? hmm. I can't really do that either.

Wow - a LEATHER bucket! great idea! Soaks up the water - then it's heavier than the water. Also would not break from bottom contact!!

So eight inches - yeah that's barely enough space as the digging hole is 8 inches wide. So it can't really "tip" over easily.

Is the Merkabah real? I am asked.

Well it is real and not-real. That's how propaganda works on half-truths. So no one questions the Pythagorean Theorem right? We all learn it by age 14 and anyone doing construction work uses it for "squaring" and leveling, etc. So the equilateral triangles - if you look into Kepler who was a Rosicrucian and his mom was murdered I think for being a "witch" - anyway so Kepler was against the CLOSED version of the golden ratio. In other words before the Greek Miracle of irrational geometry then you had "divide and average" math. But there is a third form as "complementary opposites" - this is the truth of music as tantric meditation. So this is now called "noncommutative phase" in science.

Most scientists don't even know about this - you have to study relativistic quantum physics. SAIC regularly reads my blog - they are the CIA contractor for paranormal research. So yes the Light Body is real and so are male and female energies. But as Kepler realized - as did the ancient Indians, etc. - the "sacred geometry" collapses because irrational ratios are not real. So Pythagoras actually only used natural numbers - because Time is not geometry. So in tantra - Time is Kala while Kali is the Cosmic Mother that both creates and destroys reality.

So for example my friend did a very strong double dose of dmt-based plant root medicine. So he saw my body full of light. Then he kept saying, "I'm trying to see the SOURCE of the light" and I told him: THAT'S the point - you can NOT see the source of the light. So this is called "Mouna Samadhi" or silence samadhi. We can LISTEN or infer the source of the light. In science this is called "phase" or phonon energy - as the 5th dimension that can not be seen.

Science is based on "time-frequency uncertainty" as it tries to contain infinity into a symmetric geometry. But BEFORE the wave function "collapses" as it were - there is Always-Already a non-local field that is pure time. De Broglie realized this first - he called it the Law of Phase Harmony. He was dismissed as first but now he is being rediscovered. He was critiquing relativity yet Einstein is the one who got de Broglie's Ph.D. thesis passed.

So the answer is very simple yet very radical. Noncommutative phase science admits that the Pythagorean theorem is a lie. You can watch Alain Connes - the Fields Math professor - his lecture on music theory is on youtube. He is the ONLY one who realizes that music theory is empirically based on the truth of noncommutative phase logic. I realized this intuitively while in high school studying classical music privately. So that is why I rejected the Pythagorean theorem in school (secretly of course). Then I took quantum physics my first year of college. My professor Herbert Bernstein is having his nonlocal entanglement satellite signal technology tested by NASA. In other words entangled light that is superluminal - faster than the speed of light. China already tested this but Professor Bernstein says his concept relies on noncommutative phase - or also called 720 degree spin. So all of that is the "end" of science in effect yet the ancients knew this already via nonwestern music theory.

It is very simple as C is to G as 3/2 while C is to F subharmonic as 2/3. So F=3=G at the SAME time. This got covered up by Plato and Archytas in order to create the Greek Miracle. So then the New Age scene promotes the irrational geometry as some kind of Techno-spirituality. Here's the deal - if you want to know if someone is a real spiritual master then just see how long they can sit in full lotus padmasana IN EASE. It should be for as long as they want. This type of teacher is very rare - meaning their third eye is fully open. I have met some of these people - like Chunyi Lin of http://springforestqigong.com he did the 49 day full lotus cave meditation at Mt. Qingcheng - NO SLEEP for 49 days along with no food and very little water and in full lotus the WHOLE time. Another one is Robert Peng. I have a Bioenergy playlist that features similar spiritual healers.

So for example for males the right hand is yin while the upper body is yang and the left hand is yang while the lower body is yin. So all of reality works based on complementary opposites like that. So if you have your left hand facing your lower body that is yang facing yin. While the right hand palm faces the upper body - that is yin facing yang. You JUST turned your body into a harmonic free energy resonator. This is called "moving of yin and yang" exercise - you can look it up on youtube. I'm just giving you the secret PRINCIPLES of why it works. study the book "TAoist Yoga: Alchemy and Immortality" for all the details - it is free online.

are the moderators "paid"? I'm not interested in being one. I just wonder how they are "picked" - I'm sure  it's in some fine print technical link somewhere. But looking at your new collapsing of previous subforums. Yes after posting for what - ? 15 years on this site - and doing my own research of course - I have discovered that the "three gunas" - the oldest philosophy of India - are equivalent to yin-yang-Emptiness of Daoism - and in turn these are from music theory going back to the original human culture, the San Bushmen. So what I've discovered transcends the supposed sub-forums while also going beyond them.

People tend to get too close-minded due to categorizations like Leftist or rightist or Buddhist or Daoist (taoist) or Hindu or Vedic. Modern biological humans are from 70,000 years ago and so we neglect the 90% of the ice berg below the water - to our own disadvantage. The truth is quite simple yet also very radical.

I have SAIC regularly reading my blog - that contractor for the CIA on paranormal research. Also a lot of professors read my blog and I have corresponded with a lot of quantum physicists, etc. So I'm not trying to brag - I'm just saying that this website was more like a "peanut gallery" for me. There really is no excuse for not just doing the meditation or qigong training (standing or sitting exercises). The website to me seems to be controlled by a certain group of people ACROSS the spectrum of ideologies, a group that are essentially addicted to left brain conceptual reality. This is, of course, hard-wired to the medium of writing itself.

So to just collapse the sub-forums may not solve any organization problems - I composed a music piece called "Eclectic Soup" and then my next music composition was a Fugue called "Troll Dance" - that was in 1991. You can have that reality or you can choose to look deeper at a simpler more radical reality.

thanks! Yes after the 3rd eye opens then the jing frequency can be felt through the voice. So the female voice transmits the jing or what the original human culture calls the kundalini - the N/om (snake energy). So the females sing all night  and transmit this energy into the males who dance all night to turn it into yang qi that is then sent BACK into the females! The N/om is considered to be originally female so the males have to do the special one month a year training separate from the females - the Tshoma - and since modern males don't do this - we suffer from "kundabuffer" - Gurdjieff's term. This is the root cause of our modern crisis.

How about - Daoist discussion and then "Postmodern Hodge-Podge of all other esoteric traditions" section.
Or wait - I forgot - we're supposed to be now claiming that Western esoteric views are equivalent as Daoist ones!
haha. Of course Westerners "want" to think this as it is much more convenient - as a Westerner - to not want to change as much. And who wants to admit that  Western civilization has been wrong all along?
Anyone?

So we have here a dualistic logical paradox. We want a syntactical merger without wanting to recognize an inherent difference.
This can happen although a destructive process will be inevitable along the way.

In other words Western "spiritual materialism" - based on the Golden Ratio, Freemasonry, etc. - is going the opposite direction as the traditional nonwestern spiritual training based on ecology. The Western Greek Miracle is based on a materialistic "containment of infinity" using geometry. Oops. That leads you into a discussion about how the West is creating the worst ecological crisis in Earth's history of life. I did my master's thesis on this but even that was not radical enough - it was too Western since I erroneously equated logistic equations with the Taiji. haha.

And we've had this discussion before on this website - debate even. But guess what? Words really don't change what is hard-wired into Western culture. And the world is being Westernized - not the other way around. In fact Daoism in China has become just another late capitalist commodity fetish - with the Daoist priests demanding credit cards. haha.

Sure there's some exceptions but for example qigong master Yan Xin is in hiding - whether by personal choice or by force of the Regime - it's a mix I'm sure. David Palmer has done an excellent analysis of this dynamic in his book "Qigong Fever."

So essentially the qigong master craze of the 1980s acted as a "vanishing mediator" to enable China to Westernize! (ironically). In other words it created a catalyst to increase the brain power but once the qigong got too powerful as a mass movement, then the regime put the big crack down on qigong -  it had served its purpose. Now it was to be relegated to a simple, less powerful "home improvement" model for consumerism. So you know how to best Feng Shui your car and house by purchasing mirrors and jade or whatever. No more long cave meditation full lotus no sleep bigu fasting for advanced students. haha.

The real question is who are you when in deep dreamless sleep! Are we "biological machines" that just "turn on" in the morning? Where does our thinking brain go? We try to ignore this question as being silly or naive or some kind of primitive regression back to infancy. In other words our modern ecological crisis arises from the wrong foundation about how we define infinity - where we come from - what is the "closest" we can get to each other - etc. Abrupt Global Warming - the "ecological crisis" is "causing the collapse of the Big Subject" - or something like that as Zizek stated. Even he can not handle it. haha. People want some "leftist philosopher" to same them like Zizek or Chris Hedges or that dude who writes the long winded books - whatever.
Yeah we do not value meditation because originally LISTENING was our dominant perception when we lived in the forest. Now on the savannah - spreading grass with our cows - for the past 10,000 years - around the world as "ecological imperialism" - we define reality solely through external vision via left brain dominance and right hand technology. This is transforming left-handed amino acids of carbon-based life with right brain shamanic dominance into the opposite as destroyed right-handed molecules (silicon-metal desertification with soy nanobiomotors as microchip implants)....
What remains? It is proven that mushrooms and trees communicate via BIOPHOTONS - and birds rely on quantum ENTANGLED biophotons to do migration - and our sense of smell - and other senses - the biophotons as light originates from non-local quantum entanglement. This can not be recreated through technology. It's way too complex - we can observe it scientifically and be in awe. Mother Nature is way more high tech than any supercomputer (that can even model cloud formation in collaboration with the rest of the planet). Yep - in our deep dreamless sleep - we return back to the 5th dimension that creates the whole physical 4D universe - the 5D black hole-white hole that exists inside us as much as it does outside of us.

WE can LISTEN to it but we can never see it. Light originates from it and light creates matter from the 5th dimension. Erwin Schroedinger figured this out in the 1930s - publishing his book, "What is Life?" - that ecology originates from NEGENTROPY - self-coherent harmonized phase energy that is the 5th dimension - and this reverse time from the future creating new matter - is also what powers the Sun. This was known by the Ancients but Western science tried to suppress and ignore the truth of the Cosmic Mother source of Mother Nature.

So now Western science is returning to that source. That is the message of Abrupt Global Warming. We destroyed ecology but it will return after we are long gone because the 5th dimension is eternal harmonization that creates life itself. The Universe is actually alive.

Time is funny that way. Sir Roger Penrose points out that time was highly coherent yet highly asymmetric at the start of the universe - before the Big Bang. Penrose then points out that this means the accelerating Universe with space accelerating faster than the speed of light and time slowing down is actually flowing "back" into BEFORE the Big Bang that created the Universe (i.e. the 5th dimension). So this also means that the Universe is a holograph and the future as it exists in 4D spacetime has already happened in deep space (that is actually time slowed down as our future past). So - if this is hard to believe - just study Dr. Jack Sarfatti. I got a response from him a couple times via email. He is a quantum physicist. His book - he wrote a COMIC book - explaining all of this!!
and https://openlibrary.org/books/OL7770371M/Space-Time_and_Beyond yep precognition is real just read psychologist Dr. Christina Donnell's book "Transcendent Dreaming."

Hermit Hut, part 4: Merging back into Nature: more mysterious flowers to ID

So I discovered a new part of my land - after scrutinizing my 10 foot google map print outs compared to the county land tract maps. So I realized there were secret grass sections hidden inside the willow patches. Sure enough the deer had "permanent" sleeping spots with willow surrounding them in 3 directions and then the willow patch itself completely hiding the grass section. Pretty ingenious sleeping spots! I found two of them. But maybe there's more.

So then this morning I saw a yearling fawn leap out of my forest - not too far from the Hermit Hut. Normally when the deer come in when I'm there, I hear their loud snorting, as they are rebuffed by my human civilization smell. I think my swamp stank smell got so strong that the deer felt more at ease being near me.

So I was fasting - with the last meal being a breakfast on Monday. So that was Monday to Friday morning fast. A four day fast. I lost 10 pounds.

Then as I began meditating more then my dreams got more vivid and I felt the heart energy open up more. At first I was "cranking" away but then I realized - the main reason I bought this land is to meditate. Fasting helps the mind get stronger - as the body switches over to relying on Qi.

I actually get my body fast get cycled up to my brain and clears out of my sinuses - and then I re-swallow my own body fat as FOOD. Then I even have bowel movements - although nothing solid. Just the processing of the fat and cleansing of the colon.

So it's kind of annoying - since I would want to be getting work done and I had been fasting but I had to obey the Call of Mother Nature! haha.

So I figure fat digestion creates more of a fluid.

84 percent of the fat that is lost turns into carbon dioxide and leaves the body through the lungs, whereas the remaining 16 percent becomes water, according to the study published today (Dec. 16) in a special Christmas issue of the medical journal BMJ.Dec 16, 2014
Right - so runny stool as water. Makes sense!!

this is very pretty but seemed pretty isolated.  UPDATE: I think this maybe a rare "white" SWAMP Milkweed!  My farm-friend's wife (the actual farmer) told me about this plant.

so it's growing in the "wetland" grass marshy swamp area.

I should be able to ID it.

and more!

just little tiny flowers.

alternate leaves

four of those flowers

So this LOOKS very similar to Dandelion but I'm not sure if it is edible like Dandelion.

So I forgot to mention - the final style of wall I am doing is the ancient Cob style - of clay-mud mixed with horse manure. I dried out the horse manure - composting it for 1 year.

I almost couldn't find this photo - it is just the foundation on the exterior so far. This was a test of "proof of concept" and I was quite impressed at how the horse manure turned the clay into a gluey paste. Clay on its own was very crumbly which is very annoying when trying to build with it. Clay with the horse manure is a magical substance.

The issue then is how to swat at mosquitoes when your hands are full of clay-horse manure!? Inevitably it got on my face and neck and arms, etc.

So indeed I was "merging" back into Nature. That BBC recreation of the wattle and daub wall with Cob had the same problem! The producer kept complaining how the "expert" was splashing horse manure onto him!! Hilarious. I'll try to find that - I posted it on the blog I think.

So these will be my end walls. The clay is amazingly HEAVY - so one 3 gallon bucket weighs?

My guess is 35 pounds.

Oh this was WET clay mixed with the horse manure.

18 pounds for 1 gallon - so no WONDER it was so heavy!!

So the pail was this size - 3 gallons. So I was carrying two of them. I thought I was just imagining how heavy it was. Nope it was 6 x 18...

108 pounds!!

Wow - I thought I was just being a wimp. But that truly is a heavy load. I was just carrying it maybe 200 feet.

Hermit Hut, part 3: EcoEcho Forest Cultivation Hang-ups Or Hurrahs!?!

So I was trying to "crank" out the water like I was "cranking" out the walls - and I forgot about the iron pipe at the bottom of the well (that had busted off at the casing attachment - the linkage or whatever it's called - the Coupling man-talk word )....
So my specially custom designed water bucket with harness has to be totally re-down. Also I guess I'm only currently recharged a few gallons of water. I can get by on that but I hope it doesn't keep lowering - I hope that is the "water table."

So I did another soaking of the Shiitake Logs - and to be honest I'm not seeing any more dramatic growth rates. It seems to be more of a slow growth now. There are a bunch of logs after being soaked. So I would not be surprised if I don't get much of a harvest this fall if at all. They say six months is necessary before the first harvest. I did most of the logs starting in May but I think some in April. I could get SOME shiitake this fall but I'm not sure. Some of the logs do have their ends covered in mycelium - which means they should fruit. But those are small logs. The issue is to not have them dry out too much. I probably could have soaked the logs EACH WEEK for faster growth. Now it is a lot cooler up north - and so not the typically Japanese warmth. Also - I am concerned about activating fruiting too early. I figure if they fruit then I harvest what I get. But I have one order for a QUARTER of a pound of dried shiitake - that's quite a lot of fresh shiitake. I'll see what happens but I doubt that will get filled this fall - I highly doubt that. This spring is possible. I'm not even sure how many fresh pounds (one?) = a quarter of a pound dried. haha.

Meanwhile the local shrooms are popping up. Gotta look this one up.

And the Aspen Boletes are blooming!!

hiding out or...

standing out bold and proud!

This must be the same type of shroom as the other one I posted above - that I need to ID... but the gills underneath were not black yet. Interesting.

OK kind of black. And it was a lot bigger.

Anyway what I like about shrooms is that it is proven they communicate with the trees via Biophotons! And qigong is also based on biophoton communication. We live in a psychedelic reality. It's only left-brain dominance that tricks us into thinking that words and right-hand technology defines reality.

Hermit Hut, part 2: The walls (Bronze Age wattle and daub reconstruction = super-insulation!!)

So I took this photo early in the morning to show the heavy rain dripping off the "eaves" - but you can't see the water. Anyway I have a third tarp of the same size and kind - that I bought for my Wilderness Lodge tent. I bought it first and it has worked so great that I was inspired to buy two more for this Hermit Hut. So I will put the third tarp going lengthwise - as it is 12 feet wide but 16 feet long. That way I'll get 16 feet across the 10 foot wide of the hut - so I'll get eaves extending out past the walls plus double strength against snow, rain, etc. As of now the rain just hits the wattle willow branches but NOT the straw. So I left it as is - till I'm done with the tent in the fall.

So last EcoEcho Forest Cultivation post - I showed the scythe I used to cut this grass field. Now I used that rake to make the hay mounds and then I stuffed the hay into a big rubber garbage can. So I estimate one garbage can = 1 small bale (that retails for $6).

Sure enough - I documented my words.

So then I used a big knife to cut the hay - so that it mixes better to make a "clay slip" - saturating the hay or straw into the clay water. This desiccates the straw to make it more fire proof and rot proof.

Here is the product - of cut hay that has been mixed into the clay slip. Ready to put into the walls as insulation!!

Here is the mixing pit - with the hay over the clay-water. So I just stomped on it and then folded it over, etc. Until all the hay was covered in clay.

Finally - the Bronze Age reconstruction!! Actually this batch still has some grass in it. Well according to the academic archaeology article I cited - they used GRASS.

I'm talking them literally since you would think academics would be precise about the difference between grass and hay and straw, etc. But who knows? I'll have to reread it.

OK you get the point though - it looks very very similar to the Bronze Age reconstruction photo I posted before...

This is the other wall - these are the 12 foot walls, the long walls.

So slowly it goes up. This is VERY VERY tedious work. I have to cut each willow branch and then cut off the willow leaves - and then haul about a dozen branches - about a quarter mile. I used to fill a whole garbage can but that was just too heavy and too bulky to haul through the forest trail. So I figure more trips with less hassle.... Then to weave the wattle you really want gloves or else the tension can trap the skin - pinching it painfully. But it is also quite artistic I think - again no measurements. Obviously.

It's like an artistic basket or something.

A bit higher - but that much progress deserves a new photo!! Think of each 2 x 4 width taking an hour of work. Also I had to "add" more wattle on the end - so it meets in the middle but seems to hold up well.

It's hard to tell but I used the Loppers to clear a path as I moved deeper into the willow patch - harvesting the willows as I went along. At one part of the willow patch I discovered the bee nest - it's a Ground Bee nest. I must have stepped on it - as the hive was buzzing ferociously. I cleared out fast and kept away. But a couple days later - after I saw one big "bumble bee" yesterday and this morning I went back to the nest - I saw a bee leaving the nest! So hopefully I didn't destroy the nest.

Here's a couple loads of wattle waiting to be weaved into the wall.

Here's how far I got on the 2nd wall. The first wall I finished.

So I'm gonna put clay and lime on top of the wall - where it hits the "wall plate"? what's the "Man-talk" word again? Wall beam? It's NOT wall sill. It's some other fancy word. I think Wall Plate....

So that academic archaeology article on the secret of the Bronze Age wattle and daub stated that not until the 1990s was this level of Wall Insulation achieved again!!

The U-factor/value is between 0.5 to 1.0 W (m²K) according to how densely the grass was stuffed in and how coarse or fine the grass was. “Very humbly we should acknowledge that comparable high insulation values were not reached again until the heat-protection-regulation of 1995. In the thousands of years in between the insulation grew four to six times worse with timber framed houses, three times worse with solid brick walls. Progress sometimes leads us back to proven methods from the past”, says Werner Eicke Hennig from the Hessian Energy Saving Action (Eicke Henning 2009).

It's 6 inches thick - and after I got the first wall pretty much done - and I was laying on the cot as it get cold at night - I could FEEL the heat difference compared to the 2nd wall that was still mainly open. So that encouraged me a lot to keep at it. But since this process was SO SLOW and tedious - I decided to only do the long walls as wattle and daub. I used 12 bales of hay - and actually since it rained - the grass was still not dried into hay. So it took a lot of extra effort to "smear" the grass with clay - since it did not soak up the clay slip water. So also I lost my water supply - as my ceramic water "bucket" 12 ounce - broke on the iron pipe I forgot had broken off in the bottom of the well...

So for part 3 - I'll cover the end walls.

Hermit Hut plan put into action: part 1, the roof (water resistant and breathable)

So this is before I adjusted the clamps on my kooky roof plan. I had to go to the local supply store to get more clamps - and guess what? All the checkout ladies were laughing - I realized - AT me! Then they laughed more when they realized I couldn't figure out WHY they were laughing! So after the checkout lady faked a smile - forced a smile to say thanks and I walked out. I realized it must have been my silly overalls - I have the straps in a diagonal and it creates a "uni-boob" - and then I have some black clip thing holding it together. And the overalls are highwater bell-bottoms. I forgot I was in serious country land where overalls are taken seriously. For me they're just something to legally cover up the body - and something I can get real dirty and smelly....

yeah this is the other side of the roof. Now for the magic plan to take action!! Sure it looks very silly but just wait!

OK still looks a bit precarious. Is this gonna work?
You'll soon find out!
So that's a full side of the first layer of insulation. It's rockwool - so fire proof, water resistant and soundproof....

But we're JUST getting started!!

Cross beams added - Willow of course.

Looks a little better but still a bit wacky to be sure.

Behold - the magic kicks in. The cross beams magically are the right sizing - I just EYE-balled it of course. No tape measure was used for this building (just to measure out my 10 x 12 feet size limit for "no permit needed")...

So the second side - I ran out of cross insulation at the far end. But just as on the other side of the roof - I had some extra insulation from the first layer and so I put it vertically again.

And now for the 2nd tarp.... drum roll....

So now we have a totally breathable and water resistant roof.... that is lite-weight.

I actually CLIMBED on the roof - that was pretty exciting. I didn't run around on it. I just stepped where the beams intersected (for double strength).

So there is the other side. OK I "cranked" this out - in a few hours - because there was supposed to be a thunderstorm that night. Instead it rained a couple hours the next night (early morning). I went out in the dark to check on the "eaves" - Oh wait. I'm jumping ahead a day I think....

OK so moving on to part 2.... the walls.
