Hermit Hut plan put into action: part 1, the roof (water resistant and breathable)

So this is before I adjusted the clamps on my kooky roof plan. I had to go to the local supply store to get more clamps - and guess what? All the checkout ladies were laughing - I realized - AT me! Then they laughed more when they realized I couldn't figure out WHY they were laughing! So after the checkout lady faked a smile - forced a smile to say thanks and I walked out. I realized it must have been my silly overalls - I have the straps in a diagonal and it creates a "uni-boob" - and then I have some black clip thing holding it together. And the overalls are highwater bell-bottoms. I forgot I was in serious country land where overalls are taken seriously. For me they're just something to legally cover up the body - and something I can get real dirty and smelly....

yeah this is the other side of the roof. Now for the magic plan to take action!! Sure it looks very silly but just wait!

OK still looks a bit precarious. Is this gonna work?
You'll soon find out!
So that's a full side of the first layer of insulation. It's rockwool - so fire proof, water resistant and soundproof....

But we're JUST getting started!!

Cross beams added - Willow of course.

Looks a little better but still a bit wacky to be sure.

Behold - the magic kicks in. The cross beams magically are the right sizing - I just EYE-balled it of course. No tape measure was used for this building (just to measure out my 10 x 12 feet size limit for "no permit needed")...

So the second side - I ran out of cross insulation at the far end. But just as on the other side of the roof - I had some extra insulation from the first layer and so I put it vertically again.

And now for the 2nd tarp.... drum roll....

So now we have a totally breathable and water resistant roof.... that is lite-weight.

I actually CLIMBED on the roof - that was pretty exciting. I didn't run around on it. I just stepped where the beams intersected (for double strength).

So there is the other side. OK I "cranked" this out - in a few hours - because there was supposed to be a thunderstorm that night. Instead it rained a couple hours the next night (early morning). I went out in the dark to check on the "eaves" - Oh wait. I'm jumping ahead a day I think....

OK so moving on to part 2.... the walls.
