p. 75 “The channel carrying blood and vitality [qi] from the right ventricle of the heart is a vein which is linked with the duct of the testicles and the restraining
nerve [vagus nerve]; hence the centre of the right palm is the tiger cavity.”
The vagus was also historically called the pneumogastric nerve since it innervates both the lungs and the stomach.
The pneumogastric is the restraining nerve, its stimulation being attended by regulation and restraint of action, favouring nutrition and repair.
