Finland composting toilets are now available in the US!

and he sent me a nice reply last August, 2023:
Your email comes to us during interesting times, because we are just preparing to expand our business into the U.S. I think the process will still take us about four to six months, before the Green Toilets are available there locally.
I contacted Finland about ordering from the U.s. and I informed them about the composting toilet ordinance!! So I'm very glad they have now set up a U.S. location that explains this difference: This is the same point that John Jenkins emphasizes in his Humanure composting book. He composts offsite while indoors he has a collection toilet (that therefore does NOT require a permit).
A compost toilet, on the other hand, is a toilet that collects toilet material so that it can be composted. Nothing happens inside the toilet other than collection. The collected material is composted in a separate outdoor bin. This is typically not regulated. I have never seen it regulated nor ever hear of backyard composting being regulated. So compost away!
Joe Jenkins quote....
He calls it a "compost toilet" versus a "composting toilet" but in fact he means a "collection toilet" as Jenkin explains. The code says a permit is required for a "composting toilet" in any structure but indeed this is NOT the same as a "collection toilet" even if they are marketed as "composting toilets" - let Green Loo explain!
