Nutmeg Buzz!! Psychotropic effects or psychedelic?

Hope I didn't overdose? I'll pour out the rest...

Nutmeg contains myristicin, a natural compound that has mind-altering effects if ingested in large doses. The buzz can last one to two days and can be hallucinogenic, much like LSD.Dec 8, 2010
According to the case studies from the Illinois Poison Center, even 10 grams (approximately 2 teaspoons) of nutmeg is enough to cause symptoms of toxicity.

Myristicin has a weak monoamine oxidase inhibitor action and with elemicin may be metabolised to an amphetamine-like compound with hallucinogenic effects similar to lysergic acid diethylamide.

Elemicin is also present in the oils of the spices nutmeg and mace, with it composing 2.4% and 10.5% of those oils respectively.

I just did a strong dose (definitely over 2 teaspoons) of Nutmeg mainly for the antiseptic value against sugar bacteria. Then I noticed feeling trippy - like I would fall over - kind of dizzy and my mind has a slight time-altering experience like being drunk....WOW a natural MAOI!! amazing.

Very strange.

Poison centers see an upswing in teens taking nutmeg for a hallucinogenic high.

Cuz they're hallucinating?

Visual, auditory or sensory hallucinations do not set in until hours after ingesting the spice, so there is also the worry that someone could overdose, thinking they haven't taken enough to feel anything.

I wonder why it takes so long and why it's like LSD?
