The data collected by NPR shows that new COVID-19 fatality rates are strongly correlated to a county's support for Donald Trump in the 2020 elections. In counties where Trump gathered 60% or more of the vote, death rates since May—the first month of widespread vaccination efforts—were 2.7 times higher than in those that voted for Biden. Even that may be underselling things: NPR cites COVID-19 tracker Charles Gaba (who has been highlighting similar statistics for months now), who reports that death rates in the "reddest tenth of the country" have in recent months been between 5.5 and 6 times those of the "bluest" tenth.

Breaking the vaccination and case/death rates into even 10% brackets (0-10%, 10-20%, etc.) is a problem because the U.S. population isn't evenly spread from 0 - 100%. Over 84 million Americans live in counties which gave Trump between 40-50% of the vote in 2020, while only 1.7 million live in counties where he received 0 - 10% of the vote...and only 118,000 live in the 90 - 100% bracket.
I just talked to an electrician who told my "Covid is over." Of course I didn't want to say anything to try to "burst his bubble" because these bubbles are hard-wired. haha.
As you can see, the reddest tenth of the population has a vaccination rate 38% lower than the bluest tenth (37.7% vs. 61.0%).
The case rate since 6/30/21 is 3.1x higher in the reddest counties (Trump >70%) than in the bluest counties (Trump < 26%).
The death rate in the reddest counties are around 5.5 higher than in the bluest counties since June 30th.
