Donko Shiitake Mushrooms harvest as my new CSA delivery

So far we've had one meal reported back - Bison and the Donko Shrooms - described as "very delicious." A 2nd meal was described as "heavenly" taste.

Meanwhile, apoptosis of CD4(+) T cell in spleens of mice pretreated with lentinan was significantly reduced.

The oil extract has the best efficacy for biofilm-inhibition due to carvacrol, an aromatic monoterpene (also found in Thyme and Oregano) that breaks up the outer membrane of Gram-negative bacteria [2].

drying in the Sun to increase the Vitamin D!!

Donko means Flower - as in "cracked" from the cold - to make a more intense flavor. These sell for $20 for 2.5 ounces dried. I just gave out 3 bags of 2.5 ounces each! So little do people realize the value of these things. haha. Normally when they are sold it is with the stem included. I cut off the stem or stipe so that people don't have to deal with the stems - and also so I can enjoy the stems as "left overs."

So I am now doing a CSA farm as part of my lawn work - an AgroEcology deal. So this is my first "delivery." The goal is 100 pounds per CSA share for some 35 people. So that's why I am spreading it out over two years.

This is the delivery bag - thanks for the qigong person who designed the EcoEcho label for me.

here is the explanation sheet I included with the CSA delivery.

These are mini-mushrooms but the flavor is more intense as the Donko style.

Hopefully I will have more next week.

I just started my third sawdust spawn block. We had below freezing weather up north - so I covered the mushrooms with the Burlap - to keep warmer over the night.
