More on right hand green dragon white tiger , etc. being REVERSED in Neidan alchemy

The right-hand is Yang the left hand is Yin. In the male the Yang/sexual organs are outside. In the female the Yang/ sexual organs are inside. Therefore in the male the right-hand is naturally outside / under and the left-hand is inside or over the right hand.

That's the best explanation of WHY the hand positions are held this way for the lower tan tien.

 I have collected examples of the White Tiger and the Green Dragon formations in rural and in urban areas based on Master Chan’s teachings and my intuitive feel of the land.

The White Tiger represents Yin which is the strength, the bravery and the energy of Yin. The White Tiger occupies the cardinal direction of West in our compass and its element is Metal. In the natural landscape the White Tiger is located to the right, female side. This land formation should be lower and shorter than the land on the left Green Dragon side. If the White Tiger is long, then the Green Dragon must be high to create a balance of Yin and Yang.

So in alchemy we know that yes the right hand is the "tiger vitality" or yang qi and the left hand is the dragon vitality or yin qi.

Dragon and Tiger: Dragon stands for negative vitality and tiger

for positive vitality. Their copulation brings into manifestation the original spirit in its bright light. See also Vitality, Positive and negative. Dragon and tiger cavities: The negative and positive cavities in the centres of the left and right palms respectively.

So the white tiger as female Earth is yin on the OUTSIDE but has the hidden yang on the inside as Metal. 

So this is assuming a person is facing south and hence West is the right side of the body.

Yet for the LOWER body as yin then it is reversed (just as it is reversed for external and internal).

So the left foot is YANG that embraces the yin lower body. So the Yang foot is on top.

Immaterial spirit (ch’ung ling): A minor channel linking the right

side of the original cavity of spirit with the heavenly valley (tien ku) above it and the yung chuan (bubbling spring) centre in the centre of the right foot after running through the heart in the chest.

The left leg should be placed outside and close to the right one; this means the positive embracing the negative. 1 The thumb of the left hand should touch its middle finger and the right hand should be placed under it (palm upward) with its thumb bent over the left palm; this means the negative embracing the positive.
so the left leg is embracing the Lower body that is yin - or the right leg that is yin.
 and the left hand is yin and embracing the yang upper body?
the left ear is yang tiger
the right ear is yin dragon
left eye is yang shen and yin qi dragon
right eye is yin shen and yang qi triger
the "restraining nerve" or vagus nerve is tiger as yang qi 
the dragon’s hum is heard in the right and the tiger’s roar in the left ear

 So the question is when the Left hand grabs the green dragon - and the right hand grabs the 

white tiger - this is the EXTERNAL. So the left hand is dragon as yin but the "green dragon" is 

yang when it is  

Positive (yang) embracing the negative (yin) and vice versa, The: In the meditation posture, when the left leg is placed outside and close to the right one, this is the positive embracing the negative; and when the thumb of the left hand touches its middle finger and the right hand is placed under it (palm upward) with its thumb bent over the left palm, this is the negative embracing the posi¬ tive. This is to form a circuit of eight psychic channels, and is also the linking of the four limbs to shut the four gates so that the centre can be held on to.
This orbit begins at the base of the spine, called the first gate (wei lu), rising in the backbone to the second gate between the kidneys (chia chi), and then to the back of the head, called the third gate (yu ch’en), before reaching the brain (ni wan).
So those four gates are linked to the hands and feet as dragon and tiger? fascinating!
 This bright light is the mysterious gate (hsuan kuan)

 

which is indescribable and from which spirit emerges for the breakthrough.

The eyes are positive, whereas the rest of the body is negative.

So that is the PUPILS of the eyes that are yang.

if the mortal gate (sheng szu 
ch’iao at the root of the penis) is not blocked (by a finger 
pressed on it) 
he can drive t his positive vitality through the three gates (in the channel of control) at once.
So this is what is LOST out of the "gate of mortality" - so I think that is the fourth gate.
The "mysterious gate" of the third eye has "no location" - since it's non-local.
 to sit firmly on the wooden bun in order to close his anus, and then the mortal gate (at the root of the penis) will shut of itself.
So fascinating - that the sphincter shuts the mortal gate - because they is the extreme 
sympathetic nervous system?
 It is concluded that, at rest, there is a tonic excitatory sympathetic discharge 
to the internal anal sphincter in man.

Precisely! So by flexing the sphincter we cause an extreme sympathetic

reaction to close off the gate of mortality.

During arousal, excitatory signals can originate in the brain, 

either by the sight or thought of an appealing sexual partner  

An older simplification of the sympathetic and parasympathetic 

nervous systems as "excitatory" and "inhibitory"

Regardless of the source of these signals, the excitatory nerves in the penis respond by releasing proerectile neurotransmitters such as nitric oxide and acetylcholine.

So the CENTERS of the palms and feet have the yang (outer) and yin (inner) channels meet.

 So we have right hand as tiger GRABBING the yin qi dragon upper body internally.

The palm is yang for the right hand

It hangs under and between the kidneys below and is linked with the ni wan or brain above and the soles of the feet below, being the source of prenatal Tao (immortality). Hence it is said: ‘This cavity is not material and is the union of both the male (chien) and female (k’un) principles; it is called the cavity of spiritual vitality which contains both the elements of fire and water in the generative force.

 Wow so I "randomly" opened the Wang Liping book to find the answer I think.

P. 276:

Lung demonstrates yin nature while occupying yang position.

Liver belongs to yang owes its origin to Kidney superlus Yin (qi)

So the Liver transmutes the yin fluid (jing) to yang jing (yin qi).

 The Lungs transform the hearts yang fluid to yin qi that then descends.

OK I get it now - the "fluid" and vapors thing.

so the tiger water as fluid is yin created from the heart.

This fluid has a hidden yang dragon as yang qi (green dragon).

So that's why these terms are so confusing and interchangeable.

It depends whether it's jing or qi or shen, and this reverses the meaning of tiger and dragon
