Did my Internal Frame rust conversion treatment actually work? Ordered a "slightly used" inspection camera off ebay

 https://www.ebay.com/itm/Ridgid-Micro-CA-25-Inspection-Camera-LIGHTLY-USED-/265021636358

Ridgid Micro CA-25 Inspection Camera *LIGHTLY USED*

I'm going to use this also on the stove pipe in the Hermit Hut - see if I can push it up the stove.

Most of these cameras are at least $100 - but this is a nicer version equivalent to $300 I think but it is sold for $50.

So the idea is to check for this:

https://www.eastwood.com/eastwood-internal-frame-coating-14oz-aerosol.html

OK so first I sprayed phosphoric acid inside the frame - to convert any rust.

Destroys rust hiding inside chassis so it won't rust through

So the internal frame SHOULD like the left side - and not the rust on the right side.

OK I even got a special nozzle that has a BETTER radial spray pattern than the one provided

by Eastwood.

So the question is - how big is that image?

I can then take photos of it with the cell phone and then print them out - to show the local garages.
Tough phenolic resins penetrate, convert and encapsulate the rust on the internal surface. Zinc phosphate then seals it to prevent future corrosion.
So the mechanics do not BELIEVE in a chemical conversion. They state you HAVE to remove all the rust first with a sand blaster or steel brush or something.

I disagree - I think the rust CAN be converted back into iron and then as long as oxygen and water do not get to the conversion - then it stays rust free.

That's why I ALSO sprayed the internal frame with the Parafiin Wax aka Cosmoline - which then prevents any salt from sticking to and eating into the paint.

Ridgid Micro CA-25 Inspection Camera

*Lightly USED, in GREAT condition.*

2.7” screen

3’ cable with LED head

OK then there is also the Video Resolution size. They are sold as 8.5 mm

This one then is probably  5.5 mm

 480 x 234 resolution

That's the Amazon listing

From a viewing distance distance of at least 12+ in. that resolution should be fine for a photograph. If you look any closer however it'll be the equivalent of going within a couple of inchs of your computer monitor.

The picture quality is what you'd expect from a 90s CRT. Mine stopped working after a year (the camera seems to be sending an analog signal back to the display, and lost sync).

There is precisely zero reason inspection cameras shouldn't be sending 4k feeds back to the viewer in 2019. I couldn't recognize a single thing I was looking at from this piece of junk (which is now in the garbage, given it failed past warranty).

OK so I will be lucky if it arrives in WORKING condition!! haha.

The screen is just too small and dim to use. Too small in that you really can't see much and you need to have the camera pointed directly at the target. Too dim in that it can't be used in bright light, outdoors or any bright atmosphere. The only place it works is where you can use it in a dim or dark location.

I tested a few cheap ones like Harbor Frght and at this price it's hands down the best at this price.

On a positive note it does seem to be very well constructed, and there was little if anything that it would not illuminate for viewing. It seems to focus further away than the cheap china clone one I picked up, and this is important as you can quickly lose your perspective as to what you're looking at if too close.

. No problem if you thread the camera into a pipe where the camera can only follow the curve of the pipe. Then you can just spin the handle around.

Really clear picture and LED light is adjustable depending on conditions.

I use it for automotive troubleshooting mainly.

I'm very please with this scope. I've used the ones that wirelessly connect to your phone. Hands down those are junk compared to this guy. The focus is great, you can see throughout the cavity your peering into. The other one I used would only focus within 5-8 inchs. What good is that if you need to look into a wall or down a wire run. The LED lights on the camera head are bright enough to blind you.

Good inspection camera, bright light for dark spaces, images are clear and you see the problem right way.

camera is extremely clear and easy to manuever once you get the hang of it, plenty bright enough and was the right tool for the job. Really like the fact that it’s waterproof and dimmable,

The camera is about 5/8" wide and appears to have a minimum focus distance of about 1-1.5".

OK so Amazon sells it for $100.

right someone said they got the 4 inch screen but it's actually 3.5 inches and sold for $360
