New Hot Tent Collapsible Wood Stove Spark Arrester arrives into Minnesota from China - after almost two months!

This is in the Postal Service warehouse in a suburb down south - so I should get it in a few days.

Titanium Wood Stove Accessories Spark Arrester

Spark arrester:Material stainless steel, inner diameter is 63MM, height is 80MM,Weight 34g

I wanted to test out the wood stove again - to make sure the stove pipe is well burned in before I unroll it. Because it's a lot easier to roll back together after it's been fired up.

Amazingly we've had next to no snow - as abrupt global warming kicks in strong this winter.

A cold front is moving in now from the Arctic - over Christmas.

I will be Farm-Sitting and so maybe I'll test out the stove then.

I think one of my tent stakes is in the ground there also. I thought I checked thoroughly but then it was missing out of the bag.

I never used the stove at the farm before since I didn't have this new spark arrester - I didn't want to risk the sparks.

I need to get some more wire to connect to the arrester so I can then tie off with more stakes.

It gets super windy at the farm - since it's a big open pasture of acres - there's some woods also.

That's what the wood stove looks like when collapsed back into the bag. I have not done this yet. It's been in the car. I'm getting the Rack and Pinion replaced in the car after Christmas. So I'll have to collapse the wood stove back down.

You can see the spark arrester that comes with the stove - lower right. It's just a "hood" on top with now side protection.

It comes in a protective aluminum canister and fits right into to stove bag for storage.

OK this is a different link to order the same spark arrester

I think that may have been better to order from? We'll see if I get the canister to store the spark arrester.

Also a bit of a concern is whether it will reduce the draft. Will only know when tested. So far so good.

 good point!

So they don't even call it a spark arrester - only "rainproof chimney cap" - haha.

So I'm not sure this new spark arrester will FIT but I think so.

So I ordered it on October 29. So almost two months to get here!!

well it's not here quite yet...

Oops - this lady rules out buying land based on the local zoning ordinance not allowing camping for more than 16 days without a permit!!

Do I have that restriction? NO I have "seasonal camping allowed." Let's double check.

So my FAM zoning (Forest Agricultural Management) does NOT allow a campground business but it does allow a seasonal campsite or seasonal primitive camping.

So no permit yet performance standards still apply.

And so performance standards, allowed use, with  no permit needed:

.as the use 2.20 of the camping pad does not exceed 250 days

state Statute.

So that's eight months!!

seasonal residential occupancy for recreational purposes but not devoted to commercial purposes for more than 250 days
