Finally diagnosed the problem: Dirty Printhead on 14 year old printer: Not fixed yet. Knowing the problem is half the solution

So it took all night but I finally got the super "latest" version of Windows and the printer STILL did not print and none of the patches to fix their printer "glitch" would upload.

So I know that this type of printer sometimes does not print black. So I went back to examine this.

When I found this on youtube to compare then I realized - the print calibration was also lacking black. It has black on top - that's why I was fooled. But the "bars" are missing - no black "blocks." Except that top block by the diagonal line.

Since we have a new cartridge and the previous black was faded - so that means the Printhead must be the problem. Print calibration is on its own - no connection to Windows. So that's a big relief.

The Hempel Effect

Visually, the frequency and amplitude changes but the EAR hears no difference - both phases are the Perfect Fifth just inverted as undivided yin-yang (the Taiji). I was discussing noncommutative phase with Nobel physicist Brian Josephson - and he said that I didn't understand how octaves were a geometric logarithm - so that C to G is 3/2 yet G to C is 3/4 as the harmonic series. So I tried to point out to him that since the 2 and 4 are the SAME C as "pitch" - then in the same octave, when doubled back, you can not HAVE the same G as Both the Perfect Fifth and Perfect Fourth. Why? Because 3/4 is the reverse direction in time - so that now the "3" is the denominator as a new root tonic. And so the harmonic series assumes this is a logarithmic equation as a ratio that can be inverted - but you can not evenly divide the octave and the Perfect Fifth since 2 does not go into 3 evenly. So this means that 3/4 is actually C to F while C to G is 3/2 and the C to F was derived from doubling 2/3. So this is called the "phantom tonic" in music theory and reveals the noncommutative phase origin of the music harmonics - as Alain Connes recognizes. Let us draw up a fundamental vibration with its first and second harmonic overtones [1:2 and 2:3]….if we then shift the phase relationship, we get a totally different course of the combined curve; that is, of the pressure course [amplitude and frequency] which is apparently effective in the final analysis.
