She befriended me after we met while I attended folk guitar camp and she was a counselor at the adjacent camp. She "dated" our mutual friend - a well-known guitarist who had invited me to attend folk guitar camp with him. I was 15 years old and Elisa and I stayed good friends for a couple years.
We continued to keep in touch for several years. Then I ran into her and we chatted and she invited me to share a cab ride with her - this was probably around 2003? I'm not sure.
Then I called her on the phone around 2015. But she didn't seem to remember me then or didn't want to talk to me - as I had a strange request about my Mexican coworkers wanting to adopt a dog. Elisa helped with shelter abused dogs - which have very strict conditions for adopting. I guess I was kind of joking about it and using it as an excuse just to say hi to her. But she either didn't remember my name or didn't want to talk to me.

So as I had posted on her funeral memorial site - or maybe it was the petition site - that I always knew Elisa to be very ebullient and uplifting.
I remember when she was the "barista" at the coffee shop at Lyndale at 24th street - or 22nd st. So I have not been in the "big city" for years - I left in 2009 and have avoided it as a place of evil.
So she was coffee barista there probably around 2003 or so. She was happy to see me. So I must have run into her for the taxi ride - that was at Lyndale and Franklin - and so must have been a bit later - maybe 2005? But I just went up that hill - as I was just heading down Lyndale in the other direction. haha.
So when I called her - I had not talked to her in 10 years.
But in 2005 she was the same ebullient self - she gave me free tickets to RiverDance show - that was back around 1994 - since I went with my girlfriend.
And so Elisa and I were keeping in touch on some level after ten years or so of knowing each other from 1987 to 1995.
When Jade was born - Elisa had mailed me a photo of Jade as a new born.
So anyway Elisa and I had a lot of fun hanging out - she invited me to one of her relatives weddings. It was a big Mexican-American wedding in Hopkins. We did a long Bunny Hop dance around the banquet round tables - it was very funny - so shout out to anyone who was there! That must have been 1988? So over 30 years ago.
Elisa liked Cat Stevens and she shared my love of hanging out in trees and "walking in the woods" as I called it. So I was glad to discover she did an art series on trees.
So we used to talk on the phone a lot when I was in high school. I drove an orange Fiat convertible and we would drive around a bit - it had turbo charge.
I think I talked to her in the late 90s when I was in graduate school at the University - we ran into each other and she claimed I had a "doppelganger" somewhere. It was her typical self of being very funny - she liked to poke fun at me with jokes that criticized me a little. I just acted confused - really? A double of me? Yeah she said - I say him such and such, etc. That was in Dinkytown I think - around 1998?
One of the main reasons I left the city is because I could see the cops getting much worse - especially during the 2008 RNC.
What I didn't realize is that the porn industry had been promoting this sadistic worldview based on choking females.
So I learned about this first from Dr. Gail Dines - vid
And she points out this "industry" is not even regulated and so it needs to be regulated and shut down as promoting a sadistic violent worldview against females and even other males.
