My first Orb-Weaver Spider sighting.

Voidisyinyang Voidisyinyang

I called Morris Berman in 1996. I was looking for a copy of his book. He said it was out of print and good luck. He's a nice person.

he seems to be a very nice and decent person! As well as funny! Great sense of humor!
@Pauline Project Love Before Berman's political books he wrote a trilogy on psycho-history. So the final book is a promotion of our original human culture, the San Bushmen. That first trilogy is what I had called him about. So I wish he had kept up with his study of the San Bushmen original human culture. You could interview Dr. Bradford Keeney for that. He also was a Professor who left the academy. He goes to visit our original human culture every year. He married a Zen Buddhist lady - so they are a team now. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ABjSlEaVwo He did a series of interviews with the female spiritual healers of the San Bushmen, our original human culture from 100,000 years ago. For example the trendy "John Zerzan" claims to know about anthropology as an ecological anarchist but Zerzan completely misrepresents our original human culture. Morris Berman is willing to acknowledge the spiritual force of social relations, only he just didn't study it deep enough. Dr. Bradford Keeney has studied it on an experiential level - he traveled the world writing a series of academic books on spiritual shamanic healers. But now he has focused on the San Bushmen original human culture and he's the only outsider considered to be a "master healer" in their culture. It's not quite the same term they use but similar.
Voidisyinyang Voidisyinyang Then perhaps mother nature and the earth is flawed for it created man...
@David Cook yeah good point yet Mother Nature and earth will win in the end. "Man" was ok for 90% of our biological history - from 100,000 years ago. The San Bushmen culture that we are all from - it requires all males to do intense spiritual training. So, for example, they've never even heard of homosexuality - so how could they be homophobic! Contrary to the claims of modern trendy science - homosexuality is not natural. haha. Also the males did not masturbate either. Instead each couple years the males did Tshoma - a month long fasting of trance dance - while the older males sent in spiritual energy - N/om - into the younger males. N/om aka Qi or Prana or Shakti - or the Holy Spirit - it is considered a female "force." It's a deep psycho-physiological transformation that goes beyond the thinking mind. So for example "staring" in that culture is not a bad thing because the male is actually sending lasers out of his eyes when he stares! In science this is called "coherent biophotons" - and the pineal gland transduces them and shoots them out of the eyes. The right side vagus nerve is what activates this energy and it goes to the right side of the heart. So the serious males all train to literally bypass death - the right side vagus nerve with the coherent biophotons - it stops their heart but they keep living off the Mother Nature N/om energy.

Ok maybe I've seen them before - probably have - but this was the first time I really wondered what the...?

It wasn't as big as this one.

More like this one...

I admit - I fed a spider in my tent - all the ticks I found on me. So I put the ticks in the spider web and the spider wrapped up all the ticks. The ticks were still squirmy a bit - for weeks - if not forever. Then I came back to find the ticks all gone and the spider was now HUGE.

Here's a photo of the Orb-Weaver Spider I found:

So I captured the spider in a brown bag and I released it into the mini-forest - a couple weeks ago. So hopefully it had time to prepare for the winter...

We're having way below freezing tonight up north - well twenties - and I did a "shock" soak for eight hours - so I don't know if that will cause fruiting of shrooms or if it will kill the mycelium. Oh well.

It's all a big experiment for me.

I'm having fun so far.

I had some shrooms but I promised my farm buddy - since he wanted shrooms. And some had some squirrel bits I think - but not so bad. And so I left the shrooms in his mail box.

I hope he remembers to dry the shrooms.

He wanted to either pay me or trade me meat - but I said this was a sample gift to get him addicted. haha. It was not that much for shrooms - maybe a pound fresh - but probably not even. They had already dried out a lot from being on the logs - and getting sun.

So I split wood all day - using a bow saw 21 inch - from Seymour - they're made in Indiana (not overseas). I mail ordered the saw with clearance replace blades - about six replacement blades.

The saw works well. The "camp hatchet" doesn't do much - it's good for trimming branches of logs - that's about it. You supposedly can use it for splitting logs - and there's some vids showing it. But they use only special kind of logs. haha.

I used a larger axe as a maul and also a sledge hammer.

Then I worked on the hut door and I contrived a Tensegrity shelter for the entrance - to keep snow off the front and also wind. So I used old tent poles and just MacGyvered it.

So I lost a few pounds - since all I drank was water for a day and half - 36 hours.

My wood stove had rusted up so I sprayed it with phosphoric acid. I then left - since I had run out of water and I did not have my water filter. I hauled up a bunch of water to put in the mushroom soak tank.

So hopefully the rust is gone when I go up next. If there's a hole in the metal from the phosphoric acid - well I have wood stove cement. haha. I used a bunch already on my new homemade stove.

I got cord - for the door also.
