Forest Frolicking: A fairy ring of Aspen Bolete shrooms!!

so I had to be careful not to step on these caterpillars! I actually ID these before - so I need to look up that previous blog post.

I mention the Flickers eating these Caterpillars but I don't ID them yet.

So this blog post states what the Caterpillar turns into! But I don't remember having seen that moth yet. hmmm.
Because of all the rain - even the soybeans in Minnesota have mold "problems" but the Aspen Bolete Shrooms are booming! They're EVERYWHERE. It's fantastic.
A fairy ring, also known as fairy circle, elf circle, elf ring or pixie ring, is a naturally occurring ring or arc of mushrooms
Wow I didn't know that was a real thing.

So I almost recorded the nocturnal "murmuring" bird call that I think is the Flicker couple. It is a very sweet lovely sound and one of them is close to my tent. I have another tent that creates a bird water pool. So I get birds visiting that tent next to my sleeping tent. I have yet to hear this call since it is nocturnal - and I'm not sure the birders "sleep" with the Flicker.
