Unboxing the Happy Head Hotel! aka the Pet Posse "bed tent house" from Goodwill

So here it is in all its glory. The check out lady didn't hear me (or I mean LISTEN to me) when I asked her, didn't she think this would make a great head warmer while camping in the winter? We know each other as I'm a regular - she said it would be good for cats.

So now I'm gonna try to actually find this product in the retail world - not used. I put it in the car right now - and I can't really see the photo. It says "pet Posse" - that's how I remember it. Not getting any hits yet....

Ok similar products call this a "cave" or "hut" for pets... one calls it a "bed tent house" - exactly what I want to use it for!!

The cheapest price is $15 and the most expensive is one out of wool for about $43.

Oh "pet posse" is the brand of several different pet products.

So it says "toys and gifts for animal bliss" - on their facebook but their website goes to a "pet waste removal" company in Michigan. So maybe they sold the site or changed their business.
Our professional technicians come to your home on a regular schedule to remove all the pet waste from your property. Always uniformed and on-time, our technicians treat your property with the utmost care. We take the time to make sure that your entire property is pet waste free before we leave. We also take care of disposing the waste for you!
What the company says it is treats without chemicals...

Ok I'm still searching....http://nymag.com/strategist/article/best-dog-beds-on-amazon.html
So this design is DEFINITELY a "tent" - for a pet. Amazing.

here's another one!

They call it a "pet house."

So which is it? I think we all know the Code differences now between a Tent and a House! haha. I even went into this for animal shelters! Anyway....

So unless you've done a lot of serious winter camping I don't think you would see the immediate benefit of keeping your head warm! Normally you have to stuff your head INSIDE the "mummy" top of the winter sleeping bag - and tighten the bag all around your head.

My claim is that with the proper scarf material this should FREE the head from the mummy sleeping bag scenario. This should insulate the head enough - there's a LOT of padding on the bottom of this Bed Tent House.... aka Happy Head Hotel!

Now let's test it out:

Yes it took me awhile to get this proper shot as I could not SEE what the camera was viewing...

So I got a couple more.

here's more....

So you can see the need for lots of scarf material. But that should be ok. Actually the winter sleeping bag will have "extra" material all around the head without the tightening of the mummy section. So I'm not too concerned. This is a LOT of extra insulation plus extra head space for comfort.

Besides it looks pretty fashionable.

So I paid $9 for this Bed Tent House which might seem a bit pricey for Goodwill. Although Goodwill is generally kind of pricey for a thrift store running on donations. But - I also got the full season of Planet Earth (bbc) on Dvd - for $2 - I think it's 6 DVDs - so that's a lot of Nature viewing while I need some recreation time after a long day of inoculating forest logs in the mini-forest. Normally a big DVD set like that would be $5 but I guess since it was "boring Nature" then it did not get priced UP. pretty funny.

J & V Textiles has a "Pet Posse" product that is a portable pet carrier - so maybe they forced the other "Pet Posse" to go out of business as a trademark infringement or whatever... The "Pet Posse" brand training pad is no longer available and the image is gone...

So now I'm over at Petsmart. 10 pages of similar products...

So Touchcat and now Touchdog - it's the same kind of pleating.

This luxury snoozer "cave" is $80!! Not even enough room for a human head! What a rip off....Well I suppose your head would squish down so you'd have enough space and be kept quite cozy...

Snoozer® Luxury Cozy Cave® Pet Bed

OK... wow a "cot canopy" for a pet? Amazing.

Not any more "tent house" bed styles....

Wow a little mini "Camper Sleeper Bed" - it's literally a little sleeping bag!

Then the Pet Posse Oven MUTTS (get the joke!)

Now out of sheer desperation I will go look at the actual product again for any more clues...

So I'm just now proving that this is the SAME company that put out the Pet Posse training pads - same label.

Also this is a REALLY well made "bed tent house" - so again I'm just trying to track down what happened to this business.
Pet Posse LLC at 6900 South Fwy in Fort Worth, TX is now a "pet resort" so that is not it.

presenting The Pet Cottage House....I forgot to mention it's Cozy.

Only $90 for this "convertible" pet - lodge?

Nope - another Bed House.

Why call this a Cave when it's clearly a Tipi? Maybe that would be bordering on racist?

OK I got ONE more clue on Pet Posse:
Country/Region of Manufacture. China

Not a big surprise.

A THIRD "Pet Posse" brand product - poop bags!!

OK FINALLY I am getting down to "business."

https://www.manta.com/c/mxf4lny/pet-posse-presents-inc

This really is the same company!

The same "blog" site I posted above - that then switched to Michigan... but it incorporated in Brooklyn to import from China, apparently. Notice the background images are the SAME as the Pet Posse brand design....

So the Michigan site must have bought the weblink. And the Pet Posse existed from 2010 to 2014 - apparently....

So they probably cranked out a line of Pet Supplies and then went bankrupt.

The blog design is very similar to the Pet Posse label - same coloring and retro art.

Pet Posse Presents

So they were a "retail" store - the sold cat food for example.... and my guess is they branched out into their own products. Or tried to.

Now back to the "real" world.

What you're supposed to wear? Also sells for $10 (plus shipping).

The "only" happy head hotel option while winter camping? I think not! Check out the Hoodlum!

https://odditymall.com/hoodlum-head-sleeping-bag

I'd say I was pretty close!! $60 plus shipping!!? well it is "enlightened equipment" no less! This is the "goose down" option - not synthetic - but does cost a bit more: $65.

The problem with these expensive NON-PET options - is they don't cover the whole face!!

I get full face coverage now with breathing space but lots of insulation.

My own little Bed Tent House - aka Happy Head Hotel!

Full GooseFeet action against cold. But you can't "see" if you want to. I can just pull my head OUT of the Happy Head Hotel to see easily - and my head is still maneuverable. Besides I just saved $60 (since no shipping costs). When I lived in the Alaskan wilderness I was taught that half of staying warm is based on blood flow - NOT being "constricted." Need I say more? Happy Head Hotel is the epitome of not being constricted....
