The irony of this photo is that the water "mist" bottle I use is a Mold and Mildew Stain
Yes these shall be added to a stew - appropriate food for our current Arctic sub-zero blast - with 4 to 6 inches of snow expected today-tomorrow.
That black color of the mold had me concerned - as it looks like a "competing" mold since mainly the mycelium color is the gold color or chestnut color. But I just kept spraying mist and using the 100 watt incandescent light - and waiting to see what would happen! Even if that black mold is a competitor - Behold!!
Also, of course I cleaned out the Mold and Mildew spray - it was basically bleach - sodium chlorite or something - but there was not much left. I just kept rinsing it out and then cleaned it with vinegar and more water. Probably used soap at one point. But I think actually sometimes bleach is used to try to keep the table top farm uncontaminated from competing mold/mildew.
If green mold develops on the farm during rest, add bleach to the water soak (2 caps of bleach per gallon of water). No green....

Calls for 1 pound of Chestnuts - and makes 2 of the above "tarts."
