Many years ago, I thought I had found evidence that the cells in our ears could take measurements limited by quantum physics, but in the end, I was wrong. I learned just how difficult this problem is. I still have hope that quantum effects will be more important in biological systems, but I am cautious.OK now this makes sense to me. I had done a blog post on Bialek before - and I was wondering why his math foundation was wrong. I even emailed him about this!
Now we're moving perhaps, somewhere across the boundary between brain and mind. One of the fundamental things that we do in the world is to decide whether the thing we're looking at is a real structure or just something that happened at random. That's a total FAKE ASSUMPTION BY A SCIENTIST!! I never "decide" whether "something happened at random." Randomness is a WESTERN MATH ASSUMPTION that this scientist has hard-wired into his brain!! haha. Hilarious!!
So I wrote that back in ...January of this year.... He never responded to my email - but looks like he read it.
But there is no evidence that quantum coherence can occur on a macroscopic scale.Apparently he doesn't know about the microtubule research in Japan!! And he goes on and on about randomness. This is a mathematical Western bias due to logarithms. We don't "know" that the foundation of reality is random. So what was the big error that Bialek made? I found his "confession" officially in print!
OK no big deal.... So what was the legacy of his research? No one cites his "errata" correction....but his original quantum hearing research gets quite a bit of citation.... yeah even Manfred Euler cites Bialek - and I've corresponded with Euler on this very issue! So how the inner ear "hears" is still up for grabs by science!
A remarkable property identified in continued application of this method was the identification of what appeared to be integer ratios between resonant modes. Applying the same method as before, some ratios between identified long-lasting echoes appeared to have integer ratios. In these cases the identified cochlear echoes appeared to contain musical ratios which included not only the semitone but also close approximations to most of the ratios comprising the 12-tone Just scale (Blinowska et al., 2012).Science is strange right? People desperately want a rational explanation of things, so as to better control things, but this method of control then destroys things. Oops! I called it what... Standardization, commodification, mass production, and destruction... The more science I read, the less impressed I am by scientists! I started reading science after my "enlightenment experience" - in 2001, I began studying science to convert my meditation experiences back into "rationalism" as much as possible. Wow - what a trip it's been! I've had a lot of fun. Still it can't replace meditation.

So it's been proven the outer hair cells of the Cochlear of the ear are piezoelectric - and very advanced.
The best image I could find was from 1954! At that time the outer hair cells were hypothesized to be pumps - purely mechanical! Nope - they're Piezoelectric transduction!
What we know from Dr. Stephen Porges is that by flexing the middle ear muscles we "pull in" higher frequency sound to train the inner ear. When I do this then the magnetic bliss increases in the brain quite significantly. I called this the Triode Amplifier Effect in an article over ten years ago. Now this phase coherence between the right and left ear is being realized to resonate the brain as a whole as ultrasound with 3000 times greater electrical amplification of the tubulin, even though the microtubules are only 6 times bigger!
The inner ear is proven to also amplify signals in power....at least 500 times! So the main problem with ALL the current hearing models is no explanation of how the power amplification by the outer hair cells - how it works...
So the author
So then the author argues it is actually the inner ear that provides the amplification power - as a potassium pumping, creating an electro-mechanical "negative conductance."
Pretty fascinating!
this slideshow seems pretty cool
So now we circle back to Bialek via Jack Tuszinski:
However, little is known about the dynamic (high-frequency) mechanical properties of microtubules. Here, we theoretically propose to control the vibrations of a doubly clamped microtubule by tip electrodes and to detect its motion via the optomechanical coupling between the vibrational modes of the microtubule and an optical cavity.
Optomechanical proposal for monitoring microtubule mechanical vibrations
so any physical or chemical mechanism that affects MT assembly can potentially be useful as
a modality in the treatment of cancer, for example, high-frequency ultrasound or AC …
So the potassium voltage could switch back into a mechanical resonance! Piezoelectric-mechanical-electric, as quantum coherence....leads us back to Bialek's first proposal:
We study coherent phonon oscillations and tunneling between two coupled nonlinear nanomechanical resonators. We show that the coupling between two nanomechanical resonators creates an effective phonon Josephson junction, which exhibits two different dynamical behaviors: Josephson oscillation (phonon-Rabi oscillation) and macroscopic self-trapping (phonon blockade). Self-trapping originates from mechanical nonlinearities, meaning that when the nonlinearity exceeds its critical value, the energy exchange between the two resonators is suppressed, and phonon Josephson oscillations between them are completely blocked. An effective classical Hamiltonian for the phonon Josephson junction is derived and its mean-field dynamics is studied in phase space. Finally, we study the phonon-phonon coherence quantifiedOK so we know, from my previous research, that the highest pitch heard externally, then resonates the brain as a whole as ultrasound that amplifies the microtubules. pdf link - now we know that natural resonance creates biophoton emissions! "provide fretlike clamps"
So this is no longer woo-woo. It's real science!
And what do they do but corroborate the Whispering Mode Gallery "cross-phase modulation" model of their quantum biology buddy - in Thailand - P.P. Yupapin!
So they are converting ultrasound into photon signals.
