Yangtze River Delta (YRD) region, 26 cities, more than 240 million inhabitants or Peal River Delta: Shenzen region of 86 million people

one of the most densely populated and intensely urbanized regions on Earth, though exact rank depends on how regional boundaries are drawn compared to places like the Pearl River Delta or the Indo-Gangetic Plain

Generates nearly a quarter of China's total Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

Shenzhen is located in southern China in Guangdong Province. It belongs to a different major economic zone called the Pearl River Delta (PRD)

Shenzhen had 175,000 residents by 1985.

By 2015, Shenzhen had 10.7 million residents. Quite a lot of the battery-based rapid electrification technology China is now mass-producing and exporting worldwide had its conceptual origins in the tech boomtown of Shenzhen.

Shenzhen’s PM 2.5 levels fell by 47% in just one decade from 2014 to 2024, “mainly from emissions cuts.”

It's pretty much ALL electric vehicles now. Wow.
