"I fall in love too easily:" Oxytocin and falling in love: extreme vagus nerve reaction

Oxytocin being released is not required to have "sexual activity" first - rather the feeling of fainting from being in love is also from the increase in oxytocin.

Oxytocin, sometimes called the "love hormone," is released during sexual activity and is what makes you feel bonded to the object of your desire, said Dr. Philip Stieg, neurosurgeon in chief at New York Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center and director of the Weill Cornell Medicine Brain and Spine Center in New York City.

"When you fall in love, you become rather single-minded," he said.

Yes,
oxytocin can cause fainting, usually due to a sudden drop in blood pressure (hypotension) and changes in heart rate (tachycardia),

When I fell in love as a teenager I would stop eating from the feeling of butterflies and faintness. I had no idea that this was an extreme vagus nerve reaction but it is.
