the Matrilineal whistling village of northeast India

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DYFDc0dpc5g

In this travel vid - he visits a village where everyone's name is a whistled song. It's a kind of singing that has a whistle tone to it. There is a short "city" version and a long "farm" version of their whistled name....

So only the females inherit the land and house....because the males would go off to war...

Also when the males marry they move into the woman's house....

the male says how outsiders pollute to much and the males try to dominate.....

And the locals can only write some Hindi but their English is perfect! Very fascinating.

They are more culturally like Burma than India.
