there's nothing wrong with fear if it helps you plan in advance - that's the purpose of fear. The natural rate of CO2 emissions on earth is 12 gigatons per 200 years while we are emitting 1000 to 5000 gigatons in 200 years. So CO2 at that rate heats up the planet too fast to enable photosynthesis since photosynthesis for plants shuts down - especially for agriculture that is more sensitive. Algae can sequester 100 gigatons of CO2 per year - so if we focus on growing algae, as Sir David King and Raffael Jovine are doing, then yes the CO2 could be "algae food."
