The "Multiple Planet Species" of Elon Musk vs "Biological annihilation" as Eileen Crist's “entitled instrumentalism”

 I was working with a neighbor the other day who mentioned the goal of becoming a "Multi-planet species" and my immediate response was hold on, "have you ever heard the phrase: biological annhilation?"

In other words we are "one" species destroying hundreds of millions of species but we suddenly think we can leave our home, Planet Earth, to colonize other planets that have no other species we know of? We think that because we destroyed hundreds of millions of species as biological annihilation then we have achieved enough progress to spread our species to "multiple planets" even though we already failed at trying to "terra-form" Earth (Biosphere II).

That above paragraph summarizes what I said to my neighbor. But then I was left with the question - who created this stupid phrase "multi-planet species" - and I just did a googlescholar search that proved to me it was coined by Elon Mush as his own personal fascist techno-fantasy goal. I searched googlescholar from 1980 to 1990 and 1990 to 2000 (no results for multiple planetary species). It was coined by Elon Mush as a fake academic sounded jargon business term.

 So when we go into those 379 articles that cite the "richest man on Earth" - we get journals like "European Journal of Marketing" and "Genes" and "Astrobiology" and "Futures" - it's all just fake academic marketing b.s.
Biological processes will likely play a key role and lead to the production of life-support consumables, and other commodities, in a way that is cheaper and more sustainable than exclusively abiotic processes. Microbial communities could be used to sustain the crews’ health as well as for the production of consumables, for waste recycling, and for biomining.
  Are they smoking crack? "consumables" like oxygen? Without an atmosphere then it makes it difficult to consume anything yet Biosphere II failed.

This article looks promising - like if they cite Elon Mush's horrid phrase then it's probably in the context of a good drubbing.
 We are living in the time of the Sixth Mass Extinction. While many details elude us, we know that a mass extinction is underway from comparisons between background and current extinction rates, precipitous drops in wildlife populations, the shrinking of wild places, and the critical endangerment of biodiverse ecologies such as grasslands, tropical forests, wetlands, rivers and lakes, coral reefs, and continental shelves. This paper dissects the underpinnings of the Sixth Mass Extinction, with the intention of joining many other activists and thinkers to disrupt its seeming inevitability. First, I discuss what has been invisible about anthropogenic mass extinction—the event itself—and the factors of silence, ignorance, and denial underlying its invisibility. Then I turn to the visible dimension of the Sixth Mass Extinction, namely, the action orientation of “entitled instrumentalism” that is driving it; I describe entitled instrumentalism as the wholesale assimilation of the natural world into a human-owned domain. I end with considering the possibility of humanity charting an altogether different course. We must recognize mass extinction as the inevitable upshot of nature colonization and awaken to the need to restore and preserve Earth's cosmic wealth.

 yes this is what Professor David F. Noble called The Religion of Technology

 she asks the key question: if we know human expansionism is to blame for this ecological crisis, why are we not taking the needed steps to halt our expansionism?

Sweet - she uploaded her academic article to her website!!

 @coopergates9680

This is what I've wondered. Are folks like Johnny and GDF refusing to be more critical of the USA in the name of their own economic and political safety?
 @coopergates9680  most definitely. Youtube has just become another marketing scam. People are mammals and as primates we are controlled by subconscious emotions that block critical thinking. If someone is angry or lustful or sad or afraid or worried - they are not going to be able to take the time to do deeper thinking. As Noam Chomsky points out self-censorship is the most common form of censorship in the U.S. I recommend reading "CIA as Organized Crime" by Douglas Valentine - an excellent book on the truth of how the U.S. Empire is maintained. Most people are just fixated on the "American Dream" - and so don't take the time to dig deeper. thanks

 If Elon Musk scores a top government post in exchange for helping Donald Trump win reelection, he could score a very special benefit: one of the largest personalized tax breaks in American history.

Rock the boat.
