I was asked a question about the Five Elements and this reminded me of how at the end of the Taoist Yoga: alchemy and immortality book the Fire of the Heart is inverted to go under the Water and this creates a new definition of Earth via the Yuan Qi steam rising up.
"The light of nature-vitality is like moonlight and the light of life-vitality is golden. "p. 198 Glossary of Taoist Yoga: alchemy and immortality.
So the nature-vitality is yin qi (from the heart) while the life-vitality is yang qi (from the lower tan t'ien).
So this is why alchemy is confusing because the yin qi has yang shen which is golden as the sun - but only when it is combined and crossed over with the yang qi to create Yuan Qi. This means the Yang Shen is only created via meditation with the inversion of the yin qi back down into the yang qi. The left eye is the Sun as yin qi and yang shen while the right eye is the moon as yang qi and yin shen. But those eyes need to be rotated and focused back down into the lower tan t'ien to then mix and cross-over to create the Yuan Qi via the Yuan Shen (the light of no light) and by restoring the Yuan Jing.
The silver is the combination of the white lung with the blue - in my
estimation. So the blue is the mercury which I think is the yin qi then
in alchemy. The Sun is yang shen and yin qi while the Moon is yin shen
and yang qi. I would have to study and review more for the details - I
did a blog post on this somewhere. But sometimes I changed my view with
later research. So yes the heart is the fire but it also the Sun.
On
the breathing, Chunyi said he doesn't teach any special breathing except
light reverse breathing for the small universe meditation. But he has
also mentioned how in advanced meditation the breathing goes to minimal
as does the heart beat. What this really means is the Yuan Qi takes over
and powers the body directly - so you still get breathing but it's more
like a magnetic breathing of the ether-information. The "immortal"
breathing explains this - this is still cycling of yin and yang qi in
the body but also the Yuan Qi - and as you go deeper into meditation you
convert the "yin shen" blockages of red light more into blue light. So
the heart with the eyes open is the red dragon as red light but when you
close the eyes to meditate you purify the liver as green dragon - and
so the blue light is then what - is combines with the yellow to make
green. So for the Golden light that Chunyi Lin talks about - this relies
on absorbing blue light via the Yuan Shen or the "light of no light" -
the virtual photons.
This is when ultimately the practice relies on
concentrated thought - and so I think the blue light would be the spleen
as concentrated thought while Earth is the yellow light or what is
called the Yellow Court or yellow sprouts.
Chunyi Lin says to "use
your consciousness to go into the Emptiness." So the yellow light is
your consciousness while the Emptiness is the green light - and so the
yellow combines with the blue light to create green light as the yin qi is built up to restore the golden light of the yang shen (with the light of the eyes directed downward).
So the "both the negative and positive unite in one" refers to yang qi and yin qi unite into Yuan Qi. The Yuan qi then produces the Yang Shen. If you just cultivate the yin qi then it's the yin shen. If you combine the yin qi to increase the yang qi to increase the Yuan Qi then you create the yang shen.
So the Bigu or "energy feasting" is REQUIRED to purify the yin qi into increased yang qi to then build up the Yuan Qi to create the golden light yang shen.
This is why qigong master chunyi Lin said for "advanced meditation" we are required to go into retreat or a monastery.
Wow - the front channel goes to the middle of the intestines!! That confirms the lower tan t'ien is the small intestines.
So this PROVES the Golden Nectar is CREATED in the Third Eye - that is why it's the UPper Tan T'ien - but then it has to be brought back down for storage in the lower tan t'ien. Notice the typo - "lift" instead of "life"
the golden light of
the true negative principle [EARTH] meets the moonlight of the true positive principle [HEAVEN] in order to beget the immortal foetus in the centre (where both lights meet)....Its pistil [female] is the light of vitality [white-yellow] that comes from nature-vitality [yin qi] and its stamen [male] is the golden light that arises from life-vitality.

Hi Nathan: I was thinking of Figure 4 - p. 44 it shows the Heart as Earth. So normally the Heart's Fire is the inner fire as the spirit or yin shen of yin qi aka the "red dragon" for passion and thinking. So as spiritual fire as meditation with eyes closed then the yin qi returns to the lower tan t'ien to build up the yang qi - and therefore Fire goes into Earth and thus Heart becomes Earth (in contrast to Heaven).
So it's the negative principle as yin qi of Earth - and when restored it creates the Yuan Shen as the Yellow Court of the middle tan t'ien - the heart as Earth as the positive generative force being "crystallized" or Formed" - and only when that is then restored to infancy level does the golden light of the yang shen manifest...
"If you wrongly search for negative spirit by closing your eyes to
look into the (relative) emptiness of the void it will lead to (the realm
of) birth and death, which is in the province of consciousness; you
will then achieve nothing until you die."
So that again is just the "relative void" as inner fire of the yin qi seen internally. This is the stage I am at now - since I fell out of enlightenment.
"the production of postnatal negative spirit results in
consciousness....When
the mind stops wandering outside, consciousness will melt away,
and the five aggregates will be empty of externals so that spirit and
vitality will gather and stay within and no longer scatter without."....
"speaking of obscure
things, and boasting that he has achieved supreme truth, without
realising that all this comes from consciousness which stirs his heart
(the house of fire) and dislodges his spirit from its original cavity (in
the centre of the brain), "
"When a man is awake, his consciousness is seated in his
eyes, but when he sleeps at night, it is lodged in the lower abdomen.
So when he sleeps his breathing disturbs all six senses and arouses
the generative force which will drain away; hence his involuntary
emission."
"the genital root dilates and vibrates in the state
of thoughtlessness and unconsciousness; this is caused by vitality in
the scrotum which stirs the testicles and widens the duct by which
the generative fluid drains away."
So that is from a sympathetic nerve triggering....It has to be reversed by the standing active exercises and exercises taught in the Taoist Yoga book.
"Then suddenly I sank into a state of indistinctness
wherein my consciousness and awareness of things seemed to
vanish. My body seemed to roam on the top of the clouds. This
revealed prenatal vitality that nurtured and developed the immortal
seed."
So that is what I experienced but then I also experienced the dizziness as a spacetime vortex!
"the divine mirror which
will remain tied to consciousness if he does not know how to free his
heart (the seat of the fire of passion) from worldly attachments. If he
gives rise to the thought of seeking immortality to delight in it, the
demon will seize the occasion to enter his heart. "
So again the heart has to go into the Earth!
"the method of overcoming the demons by circulating his
consciousness through the four cardinal points A, D, G and J (of the
microcosmic orbit). The demons will vanish as soon as the negative
breath [yin qi] is transmuted into positive vitality [yuan qi from yang qi] . "
