A Taste of Shiitake log-grown Agroforestry Wood Products

We had "federal emergency" level flooding in that part of the state - and so this is my first harvest. I lost all 28 of my Hazelnut treelings (seedlings) that I planted into tree tubes - flooded out - except two of them started regrowing.

The squirrel knew I set up my cooler for the morning harvest. So overnight - the squirrel finished eating that half eaten shroom and the squirrel ate another shroom also!

This squirrel was raised in my "Insane Clown Tipi" that I set up in 2017 (in honor of the Insane Clown who took over the Empire) - there was a family of baby squirrels that did not appreciate me sleeping in their den (my tipi) - in the middle of the winter. That was around 2020 I think - they made a HUGE racket. Next time I went back I saw Lynx tracks up a tree and no more squirrels - except this one survivor.

I had heard the Lynx previously and found Lynx scat on my land already - but after development increased in the area I have not heard or seen any sign of Lynx since.

I did hear the woodpecker still - nocturnal - sounds like a dinosaur - eats ants. The Northern Flicker.

I think the Veery just called but didn't make the song which is this beautiful cascading waterfall song.
