Larry Schlussler PhD, Sun Frost, PO Box 1101, Arcata, CA ... Human Humus Machine
The grate in the bottom of the composting chamber allows liquid to drain to the bottom of the composter. This liquid is incorporated into the compost pile by adding dry material to the composter, such as dry grass or wood shavings, and them pumping the liquid to the top of the pile. The composters are typically filled after about 1400 uses.
incorporates a highly efficient and easy-to-use stainless steel mixer. Each time the composting toilet is used, instead of flushing, the mixer is rotated several times and the newly deposited contents are buried in the soil-like material in the composter. The mixer is conveniently stored inside the composting toilet.
The Human Humus Machine is a batch-type CT. After the drum is full, the contents of the drum are allowed to sit for a number of months to complete the composting process. In non-batch type composters, newly deposited material can contaminate compost ready to be removed.Composter top with pump, exhaust vent and mixer

Into the drums are placed the insulated plastic lining provided and one of the drums put into use with the toilet seat lid. A pump is provided to draw out liquid end product from below a grate at the bottom of the tank, and recycle the liquid onto the pile after adding bulking material.
There is a vent pipe to add to a venting system (AC or DC) for aeration and odour control. An inbuilt mixing tool is also provided to mix the contents for faster composting. When full the tank is replaced with a new tank and the full tank, now composting, has a location for a venting pipe to help the composting process.
Hi Kevin Cunningham? I saw the promo review quote on the Sun Frost website. I have emailed Sun Frost as I am very excited to use this for a "year round composting" system in northern Minnesota. Do you have your Human Humus Machine set up inside or in a privy - what is holding the barrels? I am in a cold climate so I would need it to be heated indoors. I am wondering if you could send a photo or two? haha.
All the best,
drew hempel
