The Po Soul (Corporeal Soul) and Hun Soul (Incorporeal Soul) in Neidan alchemy meditation

the "incorporeal soul" is also called the Hun Soul but it is also a "yin shen." The "corporeal soul" is also called the "Po soul" and it also is a "yin shen." So at death what typically happens is our two spirits or shens seperate with the "po soul" hanging around the corpse. This is why, as I mention in my training manual, there is an ancient Neidan practice related by this Tai Chi teacher - of digging up the bones to put in a cauldron. The practitioner who stores up their yang qi via the Po Soul then is said to have more energy after death and thus like a zombie can potentially come back to life - this is why the Tibetan practice in their shamanism is to have the bones destroyed - to make sure no zombies come back.
So we are Westerners have a very limited understanding of the psychology as it relates to quantum biology. Yes the organs are crucial - for example as Master Nan, Huai-chin points out - there is not much point in meditating in today's evil Dharma since it's too easy to have "righteous anger" of the liver. The "yin qi" of the liver also the Hun Soul then will easily get attached to lower frequency holographic interactions external to the body. For example the qigong master related how when he used to get mad previously then his lawn mower would start smoking or light bulbs in his house would explode. Also it's dangerous to people around and he used to break stones just with his qi energy at a distance but as the qigong master assistant told me - this was "too violent."
So on a deep level in Mayahana Buddhism, once the 7th level of consciousness is emptied out then this means that with each breath the Shen is the Yuan Shen that then goes to the Yuan Qi beyond death via the deep right side vagus nerve activation to the right side of the heart. So this means a big enlightenment and it's a great achivement in meditation. A qigong master can have their third eye fully open but this is NOT the same as this big heart enlightenment beyond death. At that stage of the big enlightenment beyond death then the emotional energy of the body does not cause blockages since it automatically resonates back to the Emptiness right after there is that self-amplified holographic reaction to external low frequency spirit blockages. So there is a moment or Yi intention reaction.
As you quoted in the Taoist Yoga book then it is the Yi of the Stomach or the "Yellow Court" in alchemy that manifests then when the lower tan tien elixir field is filled by restoring the Yang Qi (and Po Soul) to the level of prime reproduction level. The Yuan Shen then manifests - and the Yuan Qi of the heart as the Big Accumulator (as Gurdjieff calls it) is activated. This is called Nirvikalpa Samadhi and most people, especially in our modern times, never achieve this. As Master Nan, Huai-chin relates, if a person does achieve this then it's very easy to experience "heroic over-exuberance" and overuse the "spiritual powers" and thus "fall back into worldliness."
This is what happened to me soon after my "enlightenment experience." For the enlightenment experience I did indeed see ghosts and I did smell the rotting flesh death smell of cancer in another person - and I experienced the qigong master healing both the ghosts and the rotting death smell of the cancer. I also accidentally pulled an old lady's spirit out of the top center of her skull without touching her!
The yuan qi is very powerful and thus most people can not even imagine its power. Also the technique and skill to maintain the emotional purification requires the standing active exercises as the foundation. The Taoist Yoga book doesn't explain this. Also the secret of the "lower magpie bridge" to hold in the energy - I corroborated this with 7 sources from both China and India and in different training schools.
So I fell out of enlightenment but I tried to capture the necessary pedagogy for someone to possible store up their energy properly. At that stage in which the Yuan Qi is activated then the eyes most rotate to combine the Po Soul and Hun Soul of the lungs and livers respectively - via the third eye - thereby to build up the Yuan Qi energy via the Yuan Shen. This is starting at Chapter Six of the Taoist YOga book yet I experienced the spacetime vortex explained in Chapter 11 of that book.
So what happens is the top of the skull gets soft as the body fills with Yuan Qi or a strong magnetic force with a spacetime pulsation. The fontanelle opens up and astral travel is possible. But as Master Nan, Huai-chin emphasizes at this point for the true enlightenment it is best to practice the source of "Who Am I?" as the K'oan meditation - the NOndualism as is also taught by Ramana Maharshi.
So in otherwords to keep building up the Yuan Qi or Ether-Formless Awareness in the body - by NOT using the spiritual powers for healing others, etc.
So the psychic "yin qi" healing I did after wards was just a "remnant" of my enlightenment experience. hahaha.
I'm glad to respond to your question. As the Yuan Shen builds up for the Yang Shen then the body increasingly turns to light - the matter is converted to light for the rainbow body. Master Nan, Huai-chin points out that this also is just a trick of the spiritual ego! The powers do manifest yet they are not the formless awareness as interdependent origination.
And so to "empty out the first five levels" of consciousness - this also relates to Gurdjieff's levels. I have a couple articles on Gurdjieff that I relate back to Mahayana Buddhism and Daoist alchemy. So I did achieve his "Number 4" person of a permanent "center of gravity" in the center of the brain. The number 5 person has their third eye fully open. A number six person has stabilized this opening for long distance healing, etc. A Number 7 person has achieved the full enlightenment of beyond death as I explained. Westerners have a hard time accepting these levels - for example Ramana Maharshi meditated NONstop for nine years to achieve this 7th level of consciousness being emptied out!! Yet Westerners claim Ramana Maharshi did not "need" to meditate nonstop (even refusing to see his own mom!). The fact is that after nine years he experienced his heart stopping for over 15 minutes as his spiritual ego went into a light so bright that his mind emptied out and only the Formless Awareness as Yuan Qi was experienced. As Ramana Maharshi states this is the truth of Nirvikalpa Samadhi but MOST yogis go into the spiritual ego of astral travel, and spiritual powers, etc. The key is to STAY in that Nirvikalpa Samadhi of Formless AWareness by continually emptying out the right brain dominant Spiritual ego back into the source of the light.
So essentially the left brain logical inference is the "yin qi" of the Liver manifesting as the Heart energy (with the eyes closed). During sleep our incorporeal Hun Soul returns to the liver - and if the yin qi builds up then we have amazing flying dreams - this is just a liver blockage. When the yin qi builds up enough for the Yuan Qi of the heart to activate then the key is to keep returning that yin qi back to the heart. With the eyes open, as the Taoist yoga book explains - there is a Separation of heaven and earth due to this separation of the Heart from the Yi intention of the Stomach (which is really the pancreas connection of the right side vagus nerve to the yang qi channel of the spine as my training manual explains).
Hence the need for Ramana Maharshi to do nonstop meditation for nine years.
As for truly emptying out the organs to achieve the Yang Shen or Golden Immortal Body - this requires the Yang Qi of the life force to first completely wither away the reproductive organ - as Master Nan, Huai-chin explains - the strong parasympathetic reaction causes the reproductive organ to get pulled back or retracted in like a baby. This is so obviously the opposite of the claims of being a "true man" in our modern Westernized culture of the Edifice Complex and Joe Rogaine of MMA fame, etc. haha. The True Man of Daoist Alchemy relies on the "Fa Shen" that can never been seen - the Cosmic Mother who will never be unveiled or the Mystery Valley of the Spirit.
So in a sense we all already are always liberated without doing anything and yet that in itself is just the start of a K'oan to start meditating for real as Master Nan, Huai-chin explains.
You would enjoy the Bill Bodri book, "Measuring Meditation" as that does a comparative analysis of Western psychology and esoteric traditions vis a vis the East and Mahayana Buddhism.
I favor the Daoist alchemy training as it relates back to Pythagorean philosophy and music. But as for my "skill" of training then I do fall back on the dirty psychic training that at best can do minor healing of others and the self. I call on the true spiritual masters to help with real healing.
Thanks,
drew

  1. Hey Drew!

Got to thank you for making me aware of a whole lot of fascinating books that made me journey down the rabbit hole!
I’ve worked my way through Bradford Keeney’s books and Boiling Energy, and have recently become aware of your list that you once posted on unexplainedmysteries.
Now, three books have stuck out for me, but I have been completely unable to track down any of them either on amazon or in any libraries that I know of.
    They are:
-The Symphony of Life by Donald Hatch Andrews
-Double Helix of the Mind by Stan Gooch
-The Eternal Return by Donald Eaton Carr

I was wondering if you still have any of them and whether you ever digitalized any of them?
