Did the Shuffle Dance change the world? 11 years ago and the club music scene still thrives: qigong shuffle dance?

And in 2018, “Party Rock Anthem” was officially certified Diamond by the RIAA and the sixth-biggest Billboard single of all time.

I met an exchange student from Lebanon who was sporting the "Everyday I'm Shufflin'" t-shirt - back around 2013 - and I had been new to the song at the time. I had seen the viral vid of this geeky dude who traveled the world doing selfies of doing the "shuffle dance" in every country.

I'm not a fan of techno as the outgrowth of industrial with EDM as the outgrowth of techno and "club music" as the outgrowth of EDM. haha. I'm taking this trend all the way back to Disco if necessary!!

Hip hop and rap music did grow as a rebellion against disco as did punk rock hardcore music (the latter I dabbled in as well). I suppose Heavy Metal is kind of a segue to club music somehow?

This kind of dance style is a lot of hopping fast - more like jogging - and I could actually do the shuffle a bit! I just watched this Baltimore doc on club music - I had no idea it was so big in the black community. haha

The Jersey Club Music sound relies on the "kick pattern" of the Bass Drum (on a drum machine of course).

This type of Techno Shuffle dancing is accessible to anyone at a simple level. At the advanced level it's a serious high level olympic work out!!

I'm not so much into the coordinated dance move thing but I will make a confession.

I actually did this Shuffle dance on my own in 1989 - at the Hampshire College dance. I had tried smoking herb I think for the first time? I only smoked it twice there so I'm not sure. I just started rocking my legs back and forth and speeding up and when I stopped there was a circle around me - watch out! haha.

I wasn't trying to impress or anything - just total catharsis and that's what this club music dance is really about.

The Hempel Effect

Visually, the frequency and amplitude changes but the EAR hears no difference - both phases are the Perfect Fifth just inverted as undivided yin-yang (the Taiji). I was discussing noncommutative phase with Nobel physicist Brian Josephson - and he said that I didn't understand how octaves were a geometric logarithm - so that C to G is 3/2 yet G to C is 3/4 as the harmonic series. So I tried to point out to him that since the 2 and 4 are the SAME C as "pitch" - then in the same octave, when doubled back, you can not HAVE the same G as Both the Perfect Fifth and Perfect Fourth. Why? Because 3/4 is the reverse direction in time - so that now the "3" is the denominator as a new root tonic. And so the harmonic series assumes this is a logarithmic equation as a ratio that can be inverted - but you can not evenly divide the octave and the Perfect Fifth since 2 does not go into 3 evenly. So this means that 3/4 is actually C to F while C to G is 3/2 and the C to F was derived from doubling 2/3. So this is called the "phantom tonic" in music theory and reveals the noncommutative phase origin of the music harmonics - as Alain Connes recognizes. Let us draw up a fundamental vibration with its first and second harmonic overtones [1:2 and 2:3]….if we then shift the phase relationship, we get a totally different course of the combined curve; that is, of the pressure course [amplitude and frequency] which is apparently effective in the final analysis. "The term subcontrary may refer to the fact that a tone based on this mean reverses the order of the two fundamental musical intervals in a scale.
