This is a nice counter-balance to our coffee culture. Sure I like caffeine but I have been relying on dark chocolate (fair trade) and green tea. It's much better to rely on meditation of course!!
Qigong master Robert Peng says coffee messes up his energy BIG TIME!!!
I find when I drink coffee then my cortisol levels are so amped up that I'm full of anger and irritation - and I snap, etc. the monkey mind is out of control!!
There are several versions of this t-shirt - clearly it's a popular "meme" or sound byte.
I saw one that said made in the U.S.A. - but the cotton is probably imported.
yeah this one says "printed in the U.S.A."
She just needs to get that other ankle up on her thigh. haha.
WOW - four different versions? I'm sure there's even more out there.
yep. Seems like this phrase is highly popular to be sure.
The message is clearly - "I don't need coffee since I meditate."
I'm not sure that it is true unless someone escapes the "grind" so to speak. Our modern industrial work "progress" seems dependent on coffee. I used to get by on lots of tea instead. Tea has cortisol increase effects but not nearly as bad as coffee.
Whenever I copy images from Amazon they get deleted. Oops.
Well I think we get the point by now - that meditation somehow gives you as much energy as coffee?
Well maybe not as "much" energy unless you do really deep meditation. But the energy is by deep relaxation instead of deep stress. haha. Coffee causes the nerves and blood to be constricted!! Meditation causes dilation of the nerves and blood.
So we're up to EIGHT versions. Just four more to go....
I desperately need clothing to be "presentable" in civilization. All my clothes have holes in them from just heavy outdoor use. Luckily I don't hang out in "civilization" that much - I mainly shop at hardware type stores that don't care how you look. haha. Or I work outdoors.
But it would be kind of funny to order one of EVERY version of this t-shirt - just to get the point across that it is a Popular Sound-byte to be sure!!
Or maybe it would keep me off coffee? Sometimes I drink coffee if I am driving and want to make sure I definitely do not get sleepy.
Seriously though - have you ever seen SO many different versions of the same "message."? Hilarious.
Wow I just need one more version to get to the dozen claim that I made when I titled this blogpost.
Watch out - it's the "Ye Olde" Women's V-Neck! Clearly a TANTRIC version to be sure!
Why do those legs look airbrushed? Oh well. Hopefully she's not in Africa for the megadrought global warming famine.
I know I need to stop but I just can't stop.
How we gonna buy the t-shirt if we can't see it cuz it's upside down? hahahaha.
OH no - the Starbucks Logo has been morphed into a Yoga lady - that is too funny!
I'm sure the Ethiopian lady coffee farmers have time to do yoga since they got their proper "technical" training from Cargill so that Starbucks will pay them any extra 10 cents a pound or whatever.
See what just happened? We MORPHED back into coffee yoga!!
Over the past year, the amount Gafeto gets for a kilogram of coffee beans has fallen a third to 8 birr, or just 29 cents, reducing his income from a cappuccino sold in the West for $3 to $4 to under a cent.
Crazy slave labor!!
UNDER A CENT earned by the farmer for a $3 coffee at Starbucks....
Hey now - you better not be drinking coffee in that mug?! haha.
yeah they sell it as a "coffee mug"
oops.
FINALLY A CERTIFIED ORGANIC version!!
I might get this.
https://www.oneplanetmind.com/products/heavily-meditated-organic-t-shirt-unisex-climate-neutral
Too bad they don't sell inside the U.S. - has to be shipped from abroad. Crazy.
AH this one is made locally in Minneapolis!!
I'm too "spent" from xmas shopping.
I just am fascinated by all the different designs of the SAME message!!
It seems like coffee drinkers might get nasty about it though. haha.
What if instead of a "coffeeshop" you had a "heavily meditated" shop? You could stock ALL different versions of this t-shirt....
Just saying - it would be a novelty item to be sure. Or even a "chain" of meditation stores?
I mean there's a chain of yoga stores and some yoga practices "meditation" to end their yoga session...
Why not a CHAIN of meditation stores?! Who is going to invest in that?
I guess it depends on "demand" right?
But then again - supply side economics says - "build it and they will come!"
I would do "small universe" meditation. Say six times a day?
Sit in chair. Or full lotus - your choice!
1/2 hour session. Like Ch'an Meditation - just walk around a bit.
Then an hour session. walk around a bit.
Then a TWO hour session.
Take a break....
Then start over.
OK that would be eight hours total I think.
Seven hours and a one hour break.
22 t-shirt versions so far!!
23
24
That one seems the most dazzling.
a gorgeous mandala design
Too bad you have to buy it through Amazon where the workers are way over-worked...
Somebody is cranking out these designs to be sure.
This one has great colors.
Made in the U.S. and long sleeve!!
Looks like this one is the best option.

Wow they even give a photo of who designed it. cool.
Texas.
I wonder if the cotton is from Texas....

Hi Drew, I have posted here sometimes, just now I was reading some of your posts in thedaobums, in one post you said that chunyu lin opened his third eye with two hours horse stance non stop, thighs paralels to ground and arms overstretched (I guess to the front). Would it be possible to open the third eye only with the exercise number 2 of the level 1 with thighs paralel to ground and two hours?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the question - just saw your comment as I was "farm-sitting." Chunyi was doing that horse stance training at Shaolin - you can see it in their traditional documentary from the Chinese government on my "best of" playlist. So Chunyi did 2 hours nonstop with no moving for every day for 3 months total and then the third eye was fully open. Then he went on to do cave meditation nonstop for first a week and then 28 days nonstop no sleep just in full lotus.
DeleteI think he did that training after he first visited MInnesota - so the training was in 1995 maybe? He returned back to MInnesota in 1995 I think.
He said that for advanced meditation then we need to go on retreat or into a monastery. haha.
Thanks,
Thanks you for the response, the standing movements are very important, I will try earn two hours non stop, I asked you because he opened the third eye without moving but the exercises 3,4,6 and 7 have movements. To live so far complicates all. Thanks you!
ReplyDeleteYes good point. Those horse stance exercises were taught in class but were not on the cassette guiding instruction - at that time in 2000 we still had cassettes!! haha. Anyway so we were taught to do "thunder palms" or "sword fingers" with the arms outstretched - just like Jackie Chan does in his old skool films - and Robert Peng describes being trained this way by Master Yao (who I think also trained Chunyi at Shaolin).
DeleteSo Robert Peng says how the pain was just way overwhelming and he was going to give up after a week or something. He started out maybe five minutes and each day a minute or two was added. So then Master Yao - right when Peng was going to give up - did this amazing demonstrating of "hard qigong" where he had Peng strike Master Yao as hard as possible with an axe several times. It's detailed in Robert Peng's book.
Now thinking back on this - you gotta realize that Master Yao was also healing Peng of his mental pain - by transferring it through the Axe strikes - to transform the liver yin qi anger blockage - for a deeper level of meditation. Then Master Yao showed Peng a tree outside that had all the ax strikes deeply wounding the tree!! (instead of Master Yao's body of course).
Then after that when Peng did horse stance he felt this intense heat and joy overwhelm his body and a kind of antigravity force and he went into a trance and didn't come out until something like four hours later. haha.
And THAT is the true secret of how they do the Horse STance at Shaolin - the Yuan Qi has to fill the body first as what in India yoga is called "Nirvikalpa Samadhi." And so then the three months training is actually building up the Yuan Qi which would be the equivalent of AFTER chapter six of the Taoist Yoga book.
So Jim Nance told me he also did this two hour horse stance training with thighs parallel to the ground. When he told me - I couldn't believe him - but then again now I can see why it would be necessary to keep sublimating and purifying the energy blockages.
In other words for me to have "continued" advancing in my training I should have also been doing the two hour horse stance after my body had been filled with the Yuan Qi. I just didn't know the secret of the dynamics involved.
It's very interesting, I would wish being more advanced in this practice, but I don't believe in Spain there is anybody like this, or if there is somebody it will be difficult to find him and that he wants to teach. I will search the image of jackie to know the posture correctly and it's clear that achieve a good level will take much time.
ReplyDeleteI am going to focus in the three 5 first exercises, specially in the 2 and 3 during some months, mperhaps the entire year. My intention will be to earn two hours non stop with the exercises of level 1, without thighs paralels, and probably later to try the standing horse that you speak. It's incredible that this knowledge and practice are so hidden. Thanks you!
You're welcome. Once the third eye is opened up then the challenge is "controlling the qi" as otherwise it easily can be lost out of the third eye (as healing energy to others). So that's what I do - I just do healing with the "yin qi" energy and so I have not built up my lower tan tien again.
DeleteJim Nance said I needed to do two hours of standing active exercise a day to build up my lower tan tien foundation again. And it is easier to do the younger a person is.
Yes if you watch my "best of" compilation playlist - that shows the horse stance at Shaolin.
Otherwise the more the knees are bent - the stronger the effect. But there are a lot of different factors - the key is a deep relaxation. So it's paradoxical.
thanks
I forget the video, I will see it. I think that our society is not good to learn all this, is designed for stress you, but I guess the best option is trying it.
DeleteI would like ask you a thing, I am tweny nine years old and I don't like my work but I should study to can change it, do you believe that is possible memorize entire books? Or almost entire, surely is some irreal or imposible, but if is possible to heal from the distance perhaps this too.
Thanks for the question. I would think it's possible to memorize entire books but that's probably some kind of savant skill that can be trained easily. Not sure why anyone would want to memorize entire books.
DeleteHi! It's me other time, sorry to take so long to answer, I asked about memorizing books because it would be useful to pass exams, thank you for answer.
ReplyDeletehi - basically the "direct perception" meditation powers emanate from the Emptiness and so the more you listen to the Emptiness or go "into" the Emptiness as nirvikalpa samadhi then the more your waking thinking mind will have its subconscious emotional desires resolved in the sense of a linear causal spacetime perceptual reality.
Deletethanks,
