Just finishing Greg Grandin's brilliant book on Kissinger (and the US Empire) - from the EcoEcho mini-forest

This morning a Bumblebee visited one of the wild strawberries outside my tent. Did it just check out the strawberry or could it eat some fruit? hmm. Yesterday the Veery looked me in the eye as I sat barefoot after my "shower" in my tipi. I made a recording this morning of all the birds going wild in song and calls around 4 am. I finally saw a pine squirrel - the first this season! The two last Fall did not survive the winter.... This one looked young. I just had a few mushrooms from last log soaking - due to the heat - and so I had a mushroom soap meal.

My new inoculated logs - are just a bit of mycelium showing on the ends of the logs - just a few logs. It's still early but I started soaking them.

Greg Grandin's analysis of Kissinger is fascinating despite being so creepy and evil

I'm not impressed by Kissinger's "existential" thesis or whatever - but Grandin explains well how Kissinger tried to justify his genocidal actions with circular logic (not surprisingly). As Slavoj Zizek emphasizes Western ideology is based on tautologies - as is anti-semitism.

I argued in my 2012 "memoir" that an Anti-Science view is equivalent to Antisemitism also - that logic does not allow us to "escape" these circular tautologies. Only an existential "leap of faith" into a NEW or ANCIENT view of noncommutative phase or complementary opposites as mind-body-spirit transformation (real philosophy is NON-western philosophy).

As Grandin points out Kissinger gets rehashed by the NeoCons which really are Straussians and Leo Strauss was really a promoter of the Big Lie of Plato... as the fascist flipside of "democracy."

So Grandin emphasizes how the invasion of Panama was the first war justified to SPREAD DEMOCRACY by the NeoCons - against "national sovereignty" of the U.N. international legal framework.

So as Grandin points out even though US previous imperialist wars were promoted by Democrats now "democracy" itself is an excuse for fascist imperial expansion - and Kissinger blatantly promoted this under the New Cold War in the 1980s as for access to raw materials and resources

Kissinger in other words is trying to justify his past with a NeoCon future yet rise above it - as maintaining a "practical" worldview (i.e. imperial greed)...
