I ended up going to REI and getting two adjustable 6 foot poles for the Ridgeline and six 4 foot collapsible flag poles
That's the "amazon" recommendation by a buyer/customer but those REI poles are $35 each (without tax) and the flag poles are cheap but the reviews say the flag poles are not strong at all!! So $45 for six flag poles that would break easily. No thanks.
So what did I find?
Premier® steel extension pole features the strength of stainless steel combined with fiberglass to create a pole of great strength and durability and helps reduce the danger of electric conductivity. Comes with an easy-to-use secure “push-button” latching system. Hex design with standard metal tip provides a heavy-duty, durable, and easy-to-clean pole.
These are the SAME price as flag poles but look stronger...
And so that covers the 6 poles at 4 feet - for $6.50 each... but instead of getting the $40 cost for the six foot REI "tarp" poles...the price is $9 -- that's right - UNDER $10!!! For two poles at six feet.
Premier® extension pole features a steel internal twist with a standard threaded plastic tip. Pole extends 4 ft. to 8 ft. Comes with an easy-to-use secure “push-button” latching system. Steel construction.
So I ordered this but have not read any reviews yet.... Let's see if anyone else has discovered these for TENT or tarp use?
So far I see them at a Big Box store for an insane price - $75?!! that's some kind of screw up.
Wow on Amazon it's $30!! So I found a very low price through an industrial tool supplier....
OK they don't have the specific models I ordered but seems to be the same construction....
OK this is the same model I ordered for the six poles
Wow - $30!! I got them for $6.50....
I only used it with heavy, large tarps, but put a slit tennis ball on top edge to prevent it from damaging covers.

Yep!! Tarp use....
It is sturdy, solid with minimum flex if any at all,
Sounds perfect...way better than FLAG poles...
The fiberglass pole feels hefty and solid. The inside stainless steel pole telescopes out and extends the length to touch the ceiling.
So people say the screw thread is bad on it but I do not NEED the screw thread....
Very heavy duty, I'm more then pleased.
other sliding locking poles have slipped and required more and more pressure to keep in the locked position. I would highly recommend this locking pole for anyone who is going to be using it more than twice a year.
1.12 ounces is the weight of each pole as they are Stainless Steel.
Doesn't seem too bad?
So just under half a pound for those six....
And the other two?
Probably a half pound with all the poles...
OH so this one is a "Push button" Lock system
.24 pounds for the other two poles...
So over half a pound.
Like 2/3rds of a pound.
