"Song" means to transform (not just relax) muscle tension stretch into Fascia Collagen tension elastic stretch: Sifu Mark Rasmus

Sifu Mark Rasmus on internal martial arts training - vid on Song - see 8:15 on

A fascia (/ˈfæʃ(i)ə/; plural fasciae /ˈfæʃii/; adjective fascial; from Latin: "band") is a band or sheet of connective tissue, primarily collagen,

Mark Rasmus:

Internal Martial Art it means to transform energy from muscle tension stress into fascia tension elastic stress. And Cuneate elastic stress to vitality force; release time on it to produce Qi and condense that Qi and use it martially to suit the technique you want to use.

The cuneate fasciculus, also known as the fasciculus cuneatus (plural: fasciculi cuneati) or column of Burdach, represents the lateral portion of the dorsal columns and carries input from between and including C1 and T6 1

 Mark Rasmus:

SONG is the bridge between muscle tension to tendon, ligament fascia, at first muscle change. Then from Fascia to Jing (vital force). From vital Force to Qi - that's the time aspect - when you slow the jing down it becomes Qi.

Qi is simply a magnetic fluid that runs through your body.

More fascia, gravity and body mass and less muscle contraction. When you contract your muscle you isolate your mass into a thin line. When you open your muscle, When you wave your mass through it - you expand your mass out.

There's just a slight PULLING of the joints, as you pull the joints OPEN, it's like if I grab something out I do a PULLING action, it's a PULLING LOAD TO OPEN the joints. I want to create an electric pulse. AS I do that I pull the diaphragm down, I pull the testicles up and these two forces (yang and yin qi) creates a SHOCK [yuan qi] - and Shocks the Center - that's why it's called Dragon Breathing.

You slam the testicles up onto the body.

Then you feel the magnetic field between the hands and that transforms the jin into qi.

Relaxing, slowing down and "releasing of time."

The astral fluid is much slower than the body - that's why it appears you're in trance.

"release time by slowing everything down."

Add to pulling the energy in, instead of out, you connect the mass. So as you throw, you pull IN, and you extend all the joints and at the end of the movement you hit the extreme where you draw and you SLAP your center of gravity [lower dantian]. All this acceleration and momentum of throwing out then hits my core and connects my mass. I crack the whip in the OPPOSITE direction [towards the center of mass]...If I thrown inward and hit my own core, my abdominal muscles get hit by whole body mass and You Draw it In and you can do bigger and bigger motions to do throwing - you CONNECT mass.

Because Force is mass x acceleration, you're going to have a model that has a very high amount of acceleration and a high amount of mass. ...Then your jin and you mass will move together at very high speed to produce power.

This [pulling of the joints] releases the muscles and transfers to the fascia.

Relax and STRETCH - not just relax. The pressure transfers to the astral feeling of Qi, working with the more fluidic hydraulic feeling, rather than jin.

Now when you're working with Chi it's hydraulic pressure so the tension is expressing itself through expanding pressure.

Mechanical differences between Jin, Chi, Shen & Wuji.

So these three levels of tension and mechanics: the vital [jing] is the joints are open, the fascia is taut, the muscles are relaxed and you hit that peak of vital force.

In the astral [qi] you're working with principles of hydroelectric fluid. You have high density of fluid but it's very very relaxed and soft.

you pause the breath and there's a sense of stillness and inside that stillness there's a feeling of timelessness and as you breathe out with the feeling of life force you integrate that feeling of timelessness to slow everything down. And move to the end of the out breath.

the effect of releasing time is that the life force [qi] gets really thick heavy fluid feeling.

You take the magnetic fluid you slow it down and release time.

Concentration accumulates equanimity; it accumulates akasha, which generates an equanimity. Whenever you concentrate your mind, the vacuum UNDER your mind INCREASES. That generates stillness that is equanimity.
