I posted this vid upload on Wim Hof Tummo and so I was inspired to corroborate my claims. I discovered a couple new Wim Hof science studies!
Neuroscientists have believed that three brain regions are critical for self-awareness: the insular cortex - so Wim Hof DECREASES the Insular Cortex activation (that is the sense of SELF) while at the same time he INCREASES the periaqueductal gray matter activation (that regulates pain). Very fascinating indeed!
So then I was sitting in full lotus at the computer - and it is night - by the windows in full lotus - the knee channels open up and so get cold easily.
So then I just focused my shen to this NEW secret spot in my brain!!!
I've NEVER focused my shen to that spot before!!
I can feel the Qi now focused in the "knot" just below my skull - at the very BASE of the skull.
It is very wild.

As soon as I focused my Mind - my SHEN at that secret spot in my brain (see above image) - then I felt the internal Tummo heat kick on strong.
This is why I have been studying science to REVERSE-Engineer this nonwestern meditation training!!
It's possible that Wim Hof did not even KNOW that this was the part of the brain he was focused on - yet the science proved this to be the case - the part of the brain that regulates body temperature!!
This makes sense know because in the book, "Autobiography of a Yogi" - the lady who practices Bigu Energy Feasting - she takes in energy from the universe by focusing her mind at that very same spot - the back of the base of the skull!!
So Western science does not realize this is also a secret Yuan Qi gateway.
I remember this being mentioned elsewhere -
Wim Hof says he can activate the Tummo without the breathing method - since his brain can do it.
I'm gonna go meditate on this new trick. haha.
I'm doing it now but it takes focus - so it's a bit difficult to think and type while also focusing the mind in the back base of the skull.
Tummo comes in very handy in Northern climates.
This is a very fun trick. https://repositorio.unesp.br/bitstream/handle/11449/163136/WOS000407627800010.pdf;jsessionid=6FE233B99B9C7BEC50679B58CC44226F?sequence=1

Before I was just relying on my Pineal Gland to create heat and I kept wondering about the connection to the vagus nerve. But actually the vagus nerve is closer to the PAG.
So a recent study showed Wim Hof has his brain energy focused on his PeriAqueductal Gray Matter that controls pain and heat in the body. It's in the base of the skull - sort of tucked in where the neck goes into the skull. I know this since I am now focusing my mind (spirit) at that spot and also generating the Tummo heat. This is the great trick to doing tummo just with the mind and not the breathing. Hierarchical control systems for the regulation of physiological homeostasisand affect: Can their interactions modulate mood and anhedonia? is the name of the study. Thanks for doing the science study Wim so us other yogis can learn the tricks, as now revealed by the science. I'm gonna go play with this now. Before I was just focused on my pineal gland but the heat was not as strong and I wondered the vagus nerve connection. This is much better.
I feel like I hit the jack pot - the heat now is very strong in the back of my neck and radiates down through the central channel to the heart and lower tan t'ien.
I'm gonna go meditate with this focus now. First I should find that section in the Yogananda book.
“Your nourishment derives from the finer energies of the air and sunlight, {FN46−7} and from the cosmic
power which recharges your body through the medulla oblongata.”
“Baba knows.” Again she acquiesced, her manner soothing and unemphatic.
Wow!! It's really TRUE!!
First her and NOW confirmed by Science through Wim Hof!!
The projections of the midbrain periaqueductal grey to the ...
we labelled axons that project from the ventrolateral PAG to various regions of the pons and medulla oblongata
I have been emphasizing “Opening the Jade Pillow Gate” (yu zhen) at the base of the skull. Doing so unleashes the “spirit of vitality” (jingshen) and allows for whole-brain coherence and body-mind-spirit integration
: most alchemical texts describe the passage through the yuzhen (jade pillow) as the most difficult.
