Do they also think "dying" was also just a metaphor when Richard Katz reports a conversation he had with the healer saying no really the heart really does STOP!? Why do they say it's just a METAPHOR? Because of their Western bias and their ignorance of the Tshoma training of the original human culture. As Westerners they insist on a materialistic cause of this "metaphor" of boiling - because that is probably their only experience. YES psychedelic do ACTIVATE the Kundalini - as I tested - but it's NOT the same as the real boiling from meditation training that all the males are required to do.
I will email these "researchers" but I doubt new information will change their bias.

No the internal boiling is not just a metaphor.
Dr Herbert Benson of Harvard Medical School has discovered these monks can raise their body temperature at will by as much as 17 degrees Fahrenheit.
Powers of the Paranormal Readers Digest Doc -
see the part on the Tibetan Monks Tummo training - starting 43 minutes.
Those who melted the greatest amount of snow won the competition
Professor Herbert Benson
So they are drying off wet sheets in near freezing water - and the room temperature is 40 degrees Fahrenheit...
In fact within five minutes the monks generate so much body heat that the sheets began to steam....Within a half hour the sheets are completely dry.
Here the Tibetan monks spend the night in sub-zero temperature - with only a THIN garment over them. And again no shivering.
SEX AND IMMORTALITY - a PhD thesis 2004, pdf
So that goes into the details of the training.
Westerners do not understand real celibacy and the power of celibacy as kundalini or tantra. The above Ph.D. refuses to study Neidan since the author considers it to be "unbalanced" of yin and yang (again this "balance" claim is a Western projection). So the energy is always flowing - it never "stops" as a "balance" that is "static." So the above claim - the quote referred to does refer to the Male and yet it is still Female orgasm internally by the male! haha. Hilarious.

Anyone who has studied Neidan knows this refers to the jing going up the spine as part of the Small Universe or Small Heavenly Circuit meditation or the Kundalini energy.
Tummo is just the "foundation" - this is why Wim Hof masters Tibetan Tummo after his wife died - and so he is proven to teach others - using the same breathing techniques to activate the right side vagus nerve on a deep level and increase the brain pressure from electrochemical ionization. Many studies have proven him to be really creating boiling energy.
So any type of meditation technique, as Dr. Stephen Porges emphasizes, relies on extending the exhale to activate the right side vagus nerve for deep relaxation. This, with further meditation, is able to store up charge in the small intestines -which is also the strongest source of N/om in our original human culture, the San Bushmen.
So my training manual has the details. This information is impersonal such that anyone can do the training as the females are the original healers.
That pdf promoting the Psychedelics is trying to rely on Keeney but I get the Keeneys emails - and I've NEVER seen them mention any type of use of psychedelic medicine. Again I do not doubt the use of a psychedelic as a training tool and a very important one at that - but it's not the main focus of the training nor the most powerful foundation of the training.
So the "boiling" is not at all a "metaphor" but rather a manifestation of Sonofusion energy which is also Non-local.
So why do these Western researchers claim to be studying the Original Human Culture and yet willfully ignore the real evidence that the "boiling" is not fake at all - it's not just a METAPHOR!! haha. Why? Because of racism maybe? I don't know.
