the bad part is at 8:00 - did you watch the whole video? I also have a huge hole in my $80 Duluth overalls - I wore them every day - and lots of rough conditions. So yeah it's not super strong fiber. The idea that the 3% spandex causes it to deteriorate - it is fascinating expose. I just ordered Carhartt and Round House - and I'm glad to know I did NOT get the spandex. haha. So hopefully my new overalls will last longer. Yes my boot cuff is all torn up as well.
yeah says they also use 12 ounce Duck - same as Carhartt
Duluth Trading Company has appropriately tough clothing. ... Made of 8-ounce DuluthFlex Fire Hose cotton canvas, a 3% spandex blend,
Not as heavy fabric.
I just ordered Carhartt - it was $80 no shipping cost. So it's the same price as Duluth Trading - but I have a big hole in my Duluth Trading overalls - and yes I did wear them everyday but not even for a year. I did a lot of rough work in them. The thing is that the BUCKLES suck on Duluth Trading - they slide around. I had to to just tie knots in the straps. haha. I also ordered a pair of Round House overalls - last company to make Overalls in the US
thanks to rugged 97% cotton/3% spandex DuluthFlex Fire Hose fabric

So Carhartt also sells a "spandex" laden cotton "work" fabric - to compete with Duluth? Which came first? I don't know but we can assume it's gonna have the same performance.
Better to go Old Skool with just canvas I guess. My Dickies canvas did not hold up as well either but were only HALF the cost!! Sure they look like a potato sack but I like looking like a clown. The straps were terrible on Dickies also but that's cause I don't have those "manly" shoulders. haha. My shoulders slant down at an angle.
So hopefully the Carhartt and Round House overall straps will stay on better.
Why two pair? ALL I wear is overalls to prove that I am officially a "farmer" as my business. haha. So it will be a tax deduction as work clothes - I'm pretty sure I can do that for overalls.
Typically, the IRS doesn't allow any deduction for clothing, but farmers represent an exception if that refers to steel-toe work boots or overalls necessitated by their work. ... Any person hired to work on the farm must be treated as an employee and have Social Security and Medicare taxes withheld from the paycheck.
yep.
