Academic Archive includes my 1994 activism!

(from Green Net) The University of Wisconsin Madison Greens had the
following accomplishments during Spring 1994 [Take a deep breath — Ed.]:
Acquired 1500 signatures to stop the Exxon sulfide mine proposed for northern Wl.
Helped create a 4% decline in rBGH milk sales in WI through organizing two
well publicized milk dumps. Obtained 1200 signatures to stop the five
parking ramps planned for campus. Organized a well publicized coalition
demonstration of the Hooters restaurant in Madison. Held successful rallies and
educational sessions on Haiti, the expansion of Highway 12, MTV and sexism, the
proposed convention center, ROTC discrimination, military research on campus
and the military in Wl, ecofeminism (including pornography and the military)
, three GATT demos, and a TV smash with greenwashing factoids. Encouraged
coalition work by forming the Progressive Umbrella and by helping the Exxon
Mine rally.
Organized two fundraisers for the Zapatistas with the punk community, and
presented $400 to a Zapatista legal advisor visiting Milwaukee, Went
to the WI Greens gathering and worked to clean up a newly acquired neighborhood
 center.
Cleaned up the Batter Women’s Shelter in Madison. Held three
spirituality rituals.
Voted at the DNR Conservation Congress on mining resolutions.
Obtained several hundred postcards for the Wl biodiversity bill. Took part in direct
action to Stop Project ELF (Extremely Low Frequency) in Northern Wl, the
