Now the auto parts store claimed this is the BEST product for stopping power steering fluid leaks - as long as the leak is NOT from a pressure hose but rather is from a seal. I think it is a seal leak since it's a slow leak and I could feel the fluid from the inner ring seal area - coming down....
Let's see how the reviews rate this product.
Review Vid - for leaking steering rack - LUCAS
That guy pumped out fluid first. I did NOT need to do that - since the level was so low. But then I did not use the full 12 ounces. oops.
It says to try using two bottles if you need to but the results are "immediate."
He says he has "residual fluid" from the previous leak... but no more leaks after five days?
So he says, "a lot less of a leak if it is at all."
A little over a month later there is no drips or leaking present. I would say it worked for my application...Wow - impressive!

First the comments:
After 4 weeks ( about 300 miles) no more leaking. Just an update. . . still not leaking! Its been over 2 months now. I can say 100% honestly. This stuff worked for me.
had to use 2-3 bottles, but it work
Ive tried some other stop leaks to correct my input shaft leak and they did not work. I tried this one and it worked, Yaya
at first it just slowed it down...by the next morning I drove over 10 miles to work..no puddle under my truck..and yes I checked the reservoir lol..stuff works..at least for small leaks it does
the liquid is probably to thick and cause the line to blow. I think a 50/50 mix would of been a better optionWow - interesting!
made the leak worse - blew the pressure line...
it’s been almost a year and doesn’t leak anymore I believe it was coming from the rack and pinion
It still leaked a little, but it significantly reduced it to just a couple drops.
I put this in and it has never leaked again.
it swells the seals it works but it's not a permanent fix
I added almost a bottle of the stuff and after a few days my steering fluid maintained the same level so it seems to have stopped the leak in the rack & pinion but whats puzzling me is why my steering pump all of a sudden is making some noise. Wow! has the Lucas stop leak messed up my steering pump, fix one problem and create another.
I did follow lucas instructions, that leak stopped completely.Lucas power steering stop leak - vid
Most of the time it's a One Bottle Fix...without worrying about bank breaking power steering repair...2nd review vid of Lucas power steering stop leak
Lucas worked better but he had a leak in his line... so it didn't work.
Stop leaks works well on seal leaks. And small gasket leaks.
let it sit over night so seals can absorb it and expand..3rd vid review - Rack and Pinion fixer - vid
Sounds like his leak is bad - the old fluid leaked out...
Apparently you need two bottles to run through the system...
Over a week later, the wife says there's no problem with it...it looks a little low - so it's still got a slight drip leak - there's no puddles anymore...Wow - kind of impressive.
4th review vid of LUCAS
Sounds like he's got a big leak also...
But believe it or not the Lucas treatment worked has not leaked in monthsWow - impressive!!
so give it about two to three weeks for it to swell up the seal like i said it may not work good luckOK... but the bottle says "works immediately"...!!??
Another Lucas promo vid - Guaranteed to stop SEAL leaks
interesting!
small leak, half bottle of lucas, drives like brand new, no noise, leak almost gone!
its meant for small standard leaks not repairing severely damages seals.
just an old seal that is leaking lucas is great because the product actually makes the old rubber swell a bit causing it to reseal itself.
It turned a $22.oo line replacement into a $700 rack and pinion replacement. It stops your leak-But it clogs the rack and pinion and CAN'T be flushed out.hmmm. Too late now!
5th Review of LUCAS - vid
leak on the inner tie rod on the driver's side...
I used it in a Taxi that had a leaking PS pump, it never needed topping up again, for the next 18 months or so that I owned the car, It worked very very well.
It says it takes up to 200 miles of driving to completely fix the leak.Hmm - I didn't see that on the bottle!
Oh that was a different brand. interesting.
6th review of LUCAS - he has a SEVERE leak and heard rumors that LUCAS will destroy his power steering pump
He was given a $2K estimate for a mechanic repair - so he's trying LUCAS...he says he can't find any good video reviews - because the impeller blades could possibly bend - but so far the leak has stopped substantially! He had to use two bottles....
He's got a High Pressure hose leak - so LUCAS should not work....
But he thinks a Low Pressure hose leak should work....
Wow - I did not know you have to change your power steering fluid every 50K miles!!
$21 for a quart at Walmart? Wow - that's pricey... was the Auto Parts store really that much cheaper? Maybe I just got a pint of it...
When the seals leak, the oil accumulates in the boots
Worked for me.
got this lucas ps stop leak and it has virtualy completely stopped the leak and no problems with my pump this was three years ago and wife delivers mail with the carhmmm....
7th vid review of LUCAS
Instantly it's quieter - the steering is way lighter...I'm kind of shocked.... this stuff could be a quick fix for people... it steers better. It's so much quieter....Within Five Minutes of Driving it was BACK TO NORMAL....Yeah I have 12 ounces also....
I'm shocked, that's all I added - I turned my wheels all the way to one side and all the way to the other... I could realize immediately - it did a spectacular job - no more howling from the pump...Do I recommend this stuff? Give it a shot!8th vid review of LUCAS
he only puts in a third of the bottle... what size? 12 ounce bottle... Wow...
I reckon it works better with gear box steering setups better than racks
What it does is cause shrunken seals to swell back up. Unfortunately, after a while the seal fails completely because it gets too soft. If you are having leakage and squeals, just take the pump off and put an $8 seal replacement kit on it.3rd Lucas power steering leak stop commercial vid
five week test - only 4 ounces added and it improved the leak - review vid
it improved the leak significantlyBut he didn't add the whole bottle so....
Computer voice comparative review of brands of stop leak vid
LUCAS is ranked 2nd and Blue Devil is ranked number 1 - interesting.
https://lucasoil.com/pdf/SDS_Power-Steering-Stop-Leak.pdf
So it's MINERAL OIL!! cool.
NOw what's the Blue Devil stuff?
BlueDevil Power Steering Stop Leak is a unique plasticizer for rubber seals.Just as I suspected - a synthetic plasticizer...says its proprietary.
The FINAL review vid of Lucas power steering stop leak?
no comments - he just turns his car on at the end and says he has no idea if it will work. Hilarious.
