There is mention of meditation giving a sense of time slowing down or even almost stopping. Also there is the question raised that our internal perception of time could be directly connected to external "objective time."
In the end he says we as humans are essentially governed by chronobiology from being on Earth with the Sun and Moon despite various different perceptions of time and different measurements of time in science.
I would say just the discussion of relativity by far makes this book worth reading.
The writing style is very clear and lucid and varies in format and focus - to create a nice balance for variety. The final section is more on biological perception of time as chronobiology. I speed read this final section since it is something I'm already more familiar with based on my own research. But also my own meditation experience shows there is a lot more to this subject than Professor Emeritus Mazur had been able to consider.
Also Professor Mazur recognizes that abrupt global warming from modern civilization is threatening life on Earth as over a period of potentially millions of years - if not even worse - if we don't have nuclear annihilation.
So my take on this is that modern science measurement of time as a spatial measurement is directly implicated to the ecological and social justice crisis on Earth.
Professor Mazur mentions that routine assembly line work is not that common anymore in the U.S. I completely disagree - as our recent "forced labor" in slaughterhouses reveals. I personally got carpal tunel from working as a phone operator for the deaf community - yes that has been replaced by technology, as he says is the case for most of those types of jobs. But I also worked in food processing on the assembly line - in salmon and other sea food assembly processing and also in fruit processing. These jobs also have long hours with dangerous physical results. I have also worked in recycling factories and a plastic factory - they both required dangerous boring routine machine type work. Even fast food restaurants are similar to this type of work - I worked as washing dishes for three different locations - this is similar as well. Even bagging groceries is a routine mechanical job with physical damage is not careful - that was my first summer job for wages at 15 years old - Professor Mazur relates his own similar experience with an even more intensive assembly job that did not last as long.
Overall I am very thankful for this book to help me better understand mainstream science. The idea of finite time for calculus as based on the infinitesimal of space - but as Professor Mazur reminds us - Zeno's Paradox was raised again by quantum mechanics. And Mazur does mention quantum gravity as combining relativity and quantum physics such that time is discrete again in reality. Too bad there was no mention of de Broglie's Law of Phase Harmony nor of noncommutative quantum algebra.
But it is mentioned that while time is symmetric as a spatial measurement in physics - despite entropy in "real life" experiments - that time on its own is not symmetric.
Overall this was a very fascinating read. It will now be donated to our local library so that others can enjoy the read. The mention of music in the book was not very deep - it relied on more superficial reading of written music scores (in contrast to deep trance music training). So the idea that as Alain Connes emphasizes - that time is primary to space - was not really emphasized. When time is primary then precognition is truly real - as Olivier Costa de Beauregard emphasized. I had asked Professor Mazur to consider this but I guess it is still too radical to be considered.
Mazur says if time travel is real then we can only be passive observers. Well that is true - as Kurt Godel emphasized - we can have no personal desires for time travel to be real - but that does not mean that no healing energy can take place! It is just that this energy-information is not OUR personal energy - it is the Universal Law of Phase Harmony energy. Mazur says we are NOT quantum particles. But I disagree - it depends how "particle" is defined. haha.
The yin body has all the information from the past to nowadays. Even many many circles of life back in the past; and it also has the information of this person's future. That's what the yin body has. So when you invite this person to come in front of you to allow you to detect, actually you are working on this person's yin body. You check the information, of this person. And this information has been existing there forever. And you need to ask the proper questions, so that you are able to access that information, to help you for healing.
Some people have fears that if I make a mistake, what's going to happen? And at that time, I said the same thing to myself, if I make a mistake, if this is not true, what is going to happen? ...that is cool, that means I was right, so I gained a little confidence!
Then I found out that the detecting, when you turn in so deeply, you are able to detect, to receive the information, from so many high levels, from so many deep levels of this person's history or situation of health.
And this technique can help you prevent things from happening way, way ahead of time.Qigong master Chunyi Lin on time and distance healing, new qi-talk

I've been trying to prolong my Full Lotus sits for awhile now. I've realized that persistent practice and stretching is not enough to be able to sit in Full Lotus for, let's say, 3 hours without any pain or the legs falling asleep. Through stretching and practice, I've been able to extend it to 45m in one sit, but this is quite painful, especially towards the end(and the legs fall asleep). Through your blog, I've gathered that you think that stretching is the wrong way to go anyway(and derived from the mechanical focus of Westerners). If I understood you correctly, the sign of a master is to be able to sit in Full Lotus for as long as they want(because of electromagnetic fields?). Given your knowledge, what would suggest in practical terms to get to 3h of Full Lotus? If the small universe/MCO was enough, wouldn't there be way more people(especially from SFQ) able to sit for that long? Thanks for your answer in advance!
ReplyDeletethanks for the question. Yes for me full lotus is a constant process of reopening the blockages. So people donated to me $20 for 8 hours of full lotus and then I was able to use that donation as my excuse for extended training. I just did "standing active exercise" in between an hour or two hours of full lotus.
DeleteSo when I first trained - that's how - I had a chair right behind me so I could pull myself up. And then I just went right into small universe meditation via the chair. And then I did standing active exercise.
So as Master Nan, Huai-Chin says in his book "Tao and Longevity" https://terebess.hu/zen/mesterek/Tao-Longevity-by-Huai-Chin-Nan.pdf
"After freeing the legs and waiting until the tingling and numbness have subsided or abated, one feels a kind of euphoria never before experienced. If you can persist in meditating until your ch'i and blood flow freely to the legs, you will have a strong internal orgasm from your feet and legs upward to your waist and back, and even throughout your entire body' Rest assured You would then not want to release your legs and stop your meditation prematurelY."
So the secret is from celibacy and meditation to build up the qi.
But you definitely need to be careful, of course.
