Thank You Ace Hardware for the 6 inch to 5 inch stove pipe reducer!

So it actually "increases" from out of the stove but since it's a stove connection you need the opposite name for what it does. 24 Ga. Steel Stove Pipe

So it looks like an increaser to me but that's because the crimp end is from the stove going out.

And it fits! Of course I tried to crimp the 5 inch to 6 inch INCREASER on the 5 inch side as the 6 inch side was already crimped.  But this gauge is too thick to crimp with a needle nose pliers.

So then I went all out and got the elbow also as a thicker gauge stove pipe (instead of the galvanized steel elbow I already had)....

So this should be 60 degrees...

That's with the crimp end down as it goes into the stove.

And there it is! It fits!! (Of course the other elbow did NOT fit into the 5 inch to 6 inch increaser since the 6 inch end was crimped).

Looking Cool!!

This is exciting.

So the door is open but you can't see in.

That set up should kick out some serious heat!

So as I blogged previously - this "reducer" is called an "increaser" by the chimney stoves since they know what it is used for - going OUT of the stove! So when I bought the wrong part - I didn't buy it from a chimney store. When I bought the correct part - the ONLY place that sold it was ACE hardware (not any of the big box stores). Thank you ACE hardware!!

So this is a discussion of this same elbow part - and let's see what photos they posted.

Looks like a 30 is correct. Flip it for the 60.

So https://fourdog.com calls it a 60 degree but they actually mean that the second elbow outside the "tent" then flips it as a 60 degree for the vertical rise of the chimney pipe.
