Really? This is Forest Farming?

Cargill and Bunge Caught Destroying the Equivalent of 10,000 Football Fields for the Global Meat Trade
WASHINGTON D.C., May 18, 2017- A new investigation by Mighty Earth utilized satellite imagery to find agriculture giants Cargill and Bunge driving new deforestation the size of about 10,000 football fields in Latin America– just months after these companies were linked to deforestation at the same sites in Bolivia’s Amazon basin and Brazil’s vast Cerrado savannah forest.
In the wake of the first investigation, those companies and their large corporate customers had pledged to act to prevent further deforestation, but the new evidence shows that their actions so far have been inadequate.
In just this small sample of South America’s soy belt, Mighty Earth’s investigation found a total of 60 square kilometers of new clearance (equivalent to approximately 10,000 football fields) on the farms it visited for the initial investigation, as well as 120 square kilometers of planned clearance—land that has been prepared to be bulldozed.
Cargill and Bunge – which supply feed for the chickens, pigs, and cattle that end up on dinner plates around the world – have so far obstructed efforts to extend their own highly effective forest protection system that has been running for 10 years in the Brazilian Amazon to the other soy-growing regions where they operate: the Bolivian Amazon, Brazil’s Cerrado, Paraguay and Argentina.
I did my undergrad degree in "International Relations" with a "new" environmental option on sustainability. At the time I wondered why all my classmates in my "Latin American International Relations" class were just sitting there like silent stooges - drinking up the NAFTA propaganda of our Ayn Randian professor! I didn't realize that IR was a BUSINESS major. haha. And that professor, after I wrote a paper promoting the cooperative Ejido farms of Mexico - she told me I was going to FAIL the class. Oops - that's what you get for thinking independently! So it was during summer school I think and I was taking like 5 classes or whatever - I was just like FINE. I'll just "regurgitate" the class notes like a good boy. No thinking allowed!!
And what amazes me is how little people know about the US Empire - how the US used to OWN Iran's oil via Rockefeller after the 1953 CIA coup. Of course the Rockefellers want that money back! And the same in Venezuela - I think Jimenez was our "coup" dictator there in modern times. I personally slept over at Senor Lopez's house in Caracas and helped his daughter get a good pharmacy job in my city in the US. I am friends with Venezuelans - or I was.
This really pisses me off - but still Senor Lopez went to Columbia University in NYC and then he worked for OPEC for Venezuela. haha. So if Venezuela does not "play along" by giving their oil to the US corporate elite (Rockefellers) - then all this socialism stuff goes bye bye. I personally sang Beatles songs with bare-footed peasants in Venezuela - who told me they would vote for Hugo Chavez even though they had NEVER voted before in their lives (due to all the corruption). OH but instead we just hear how "corrupt" the socialists are and no mention the UK Guardian even reported that the poor in Venezuela are now much better off (until the US really clamped down with the blockade sanctions).
Yes the mass mind control is quite amazing. The Empire propaganda is just as convincing now as when the US invaded Iraq in the early 90s. I had been living in the wilderness in Alaska (no electricity, no running water, no heat). I come back after 6 months in Alaska - to realize everyone is mass mind controlled by the Boob Tube. haha. So then I discovered Noam Chomsky when I moved into the local hippy commune cooperative.
