actually my classical piano teacher told me about some famous performer who ONLY practiced by the mind. This is also the secret of Daoist Neigong alchemy - meditation is MUSIC. You gotta have your eyes closed though and visualize light - Attention is right brain dominant just like frequency. The light created with eyes closed is from the Emtpiness vacuum so it has noncommutative phase just like REAL music theory (not the fake sine-wave symmetric math stuff). Here is a quote from a Daoist alchemy scholar on Neidan:
"The twelve-stage sequence also establishes correspondences with other duodenary series: ...the bells and pitch-pipes."
so the 12 notes of the music scale are actually infinite time-frequency resonance that is noncommutative or non-local. C to F is 2/3 subharmonic while C to G is 3/2 overtone harmonic - at the same time!! This got "removed" from Western music in order to create normal symmetric Western math-logic. oops! Now relativistic quantum biology is rediscovering noncommutative phase truth of reality as the Ether! Phonon acoustic oscillations created the universe as a phase-shift that is eternal light creation. The Daoists call it the "absolute void" that radiates light (from reverse time - from the future! superluminal momentum or supermomentum). Musicians are proven to have strong right brain activation but the secret is the pineal gland also gets activated with deep music-mind-meditation "practice." I did this to finish my master's degree at U of MN - on radical ecology and music theory as "sound-current nondualism."

This ultrasound resonates the microtubules with 3000 times greater electromagnetic amplification than other frequencies - even though microtubules are only 6 times bigger than the tubulin that compose the neurons. Dr. Stephen Porges proves that flexing the middle ear muscle pulls in the higher frequencies and activates the vagus nerve. This creates a subharmonic ELF reverse phase charge - as Dr. Andrija Puharich figured out - the magnetic moment of the proton-electron bonds of the neurotransmitters. Then once the vagus nerve gets ionized - your good to go since then the blood brain barrier gets permeable.
science has proven that people who train seriously on a music instrument from before age 7 then get a significantly larger corpus callosum, to integrate the right and left brains. This only happens from music training since the time precision is left brain while frequency is right brain. So if a person keeps training from a young age then I can see how just doing mental practice would be easier. But there are books about how the great composers had their music get "downloaded" to them as a "whole" vision. In other words - the source of the sound also creates sonoluminescence from superluminal phase momentum. The signal is actually a non-local phase - that gets translated into an image. This sounds metaphorical but actually several quantum physicists like David Bohm, Basil Hiley (with whom I've corresponded) and Brian Josephson - all rely on using music composition to "explain" what quantum physics means. So there is an "unfolding" of melody only as a dynamic relation of the notes based on phase - so that the future is "guiding" the past and only the "motif" captures the meaning of the melody - from the future.
And so - also Sir Roger Penrose (buddies with Basil Hiley) works with Dr. Stuart Hameroff on the quantum biology details. Hameroff (with whom I've corresponded) also relies on music, not just as a metaphor - but a literal explanation of quantum reality as consciousness. So there are quantum "beats" as subharmonics of the quantum non-local dynamic. Professor "Dr. Quantum" Fred Alan Wolf also relies on music theory to explain this. So Schroedinger dropped relativity from de Broglie when Schroedinger created his wave function. So Schroedinger KNEW that the light emitted by the electron at the quantum "leap" is actually a subharmonic but Schroedinger could not figure out of "what" was the light resonating from as a subharmonic. Luckily Yakir Aharonov has now proven this - they use "weak measurements" of light now to maintain the momentum while changing the position - so that time is in a sense "frozen." So Olivier Costa de Beauregard first proposed these experiments as the Delayed Choice experiment - calling it RetroParation instead of Preparation. But with music - we are relying on logical inference instead of an external time parameter. This is where the mathematicians like professor Louis Kauffman (with whom I've corresponded) comes back into play - whereby the noncommutative phase is embedded into Number as a "hidden" dimension - actually as Kauffman states - it is literally "primordial time" that is "synchronous" and guiding reality - before any measurement takes place by scientists.
