Waysun Liao: Why Condensed Breathing is necessary: Bone storage as Qi Power (jing)

So jing in T'ai Chi has the meaning of "horse power" while the qi is considered the fuel.

I would say this meaning of Jing is more like the secret "golden Key" of Zhong Gong - it is the superluminal "yin matter" as the Emptiness.

And so Waysun Liao says Qi is energy but Jing is POWER and so it is necessary to do condensed breathing to take the Qi as Fuel and convert it into power by storing it in the bones.

And so unless the Qi is converted from energy into power - then the qi will not be functional.

Standing exercise as condensing the bone, to convert the qi as energy into functional power as force.

So then his next section is all about relaxation. Funny. But before that level he emphasizes to "squeeze" the muscles on inhale!

And so it is when Waysun Liao quotes the T'ai Chi classic that we get the "real" meaning of this jing as condensing energy into force. It is the Shen that is being condensed into the jing to create the "force."

So Waysun Liao states the more qi, then the more shen but:

Do not let the Spirit extend outwards and get lost. Rather let it be condensed inward and recycled.
So then the more relaxed the body is, the more the mind can control it at the speed of the mind with infinite abilities.

So then one of the teachers quoted says to "relax the abdomen and let internal energy condense into your bone marrow."

The entire body should not be controlled by breathing but by mind as spirit.
