The reason is I had an unusual opportunity to explore this capacity in a scientific setting in the early 1970s with a series of scientific experiments over a period nearly three years, from 1972 to 1975, at the Stanford Research Institute (now SRI International), in Menlo Park, California. Although my primary work at the time was as a senior social scientist in the futures group at SRI, for nearly 3 years, I was also a consultant to NASA in the SRI engineering laboratory, tasked with exploring a wide range of experiments regarding intuitive capacities. Experiments included the “remote viewing” of diverse locations and technologies; extrasensory connection with a random number generator, and more. I dropped out of these fascinating experiments in 1975 when they were taken over by the CIA and declared secret (research apparently continued for another 20 years according to Freedom of Information Act disclosures).
My other questions would be; "Do you think Chris had the vision he has claimed and is describing in his presentation? Have you read Daniel Christian Wahl's 'Designing Regenerative Cultures'? I believe it dissolves dualism without completely negating technology. I think I agree that the genie has been let out of the bottle. He is not a techno-optimist and advocates for the preservation of indigenous cultures and offers a 3 horizon model -- plus other models -- to deal with overcoming status quo suicidalism or "business as usual". Very good book imo and perhaps one of the only offering a way out that doesn't negate anarcho-primitivist non-dual forest taoism... of course I would never try to sum up your philosophy of emptiness hey.

DeleteThe "technology" is not bad as San Bushmen used technology also like bows. It's what archaeologists call the "symbolic revolution" as a religious philosophy that started around 10,000 BCE. So a certain school of archaeologists from Jacques CAuvin - they argue that West Asian wheat farming arose first from a "symbolic revolution" due to an over-abundance. So basically the Levant and West Asia - and then with the end of the glacial ice age so that warming was peaking - there was an abundance of wild grains that were harvested - along with animals. And the Megaliths were first built by Hunter-Gatherers as a religious philosophy to try to "contain infinity" using ritual geometry - by the male hunters. So then during the Younger Dryas stadial there was cooling that forced the technology to accelerate based on that philosophy. There was deforestation to try to water proof the housing. The housing was "rectilinear" and then by the time of the Iron Age around 1200 BCE - then the circular housing was not allowed. The circular lunar ritual altars had to be made the same area as the solar square altars. Silver as lunar female energy became less valuable than iron used for military weapons.
So this was just an acceleration from the invention of the chariot wheel around 2000 BCE - as the attempt to "square the circle" to find the center of the chariot wheel.
So technology for the San Bushmen is still part of a continuum of Nature so that the Bow for Hunting is also a shamanic musical instrument with the hunter than transmitting the female N/om energy to attract the animals for the hunt. The Western technology in contrast is based on the Separation of Heaven and Earth as the Separation of the Mind and Body. My 2012 book goes into that in more detail. I askes the youtube moderator to consider the attempt at TRANSPARENCY that this comment represents (just like Chris's presentation, or so I thought) -- the concretizing and bringing to awareness of millenia of violence and the possibility for emergence from that into a planetary culture of stewardship. Dr Wood lost her career for going up against the NIST and because of the group-think nationalism of her peers.
I agree with almost everything you said and what you have said to me in previous discussions. I agree that fractals are abstract mental conceptual constructs arising out of Platonic fanaticism and expansionism.
I think Chris might even agree with you publically that we are in hard times of catastrophe -- the socio-cultural ecosystem chaos. He said we would have to come to terms with our incredibly violent past in this video or the other presentation that I linked. He tells his story about undergoing experiences of rape and violence and geneocide during his deep temporal visions. But I'm not sure that he would have the nerve to piss off so many white people and people of religious ideology, by publically acknowledging, on video, the following observation...
That the westernized death cultures are in almost complete and total denial about our incredibly violent past of rape and murder of indigenous cultures; which was perpetrated by Europeans and those of Abrahamic religious faiths etc. It is an elephant in the room.

And further... I am not sure if you agree that "god" or "the female formless awareness", intended and created a planet that allows violence and friction and terrible bottlenecks to take place within this creative template that we might call "Life itself".
It seems to me that this existence is one that is full of paradoxes like the co-existence of seemingly opposing qualities that we like to categorize as 'violence' and 'love', or 'cooperation' and 'ruthlessness' (or individualized 'self indulgence').
Maybe all this 'imperfection' (the opposing dualisms) is just the 'actual imperfection' that is 'Platonic philosophy', as you se to so often point out; the westernized categorical fetishism of Plato, which lead to the dualism and creation of sinful ideas about the body -- the body as 'separate' from the "heavenly" 'perfect intellect' of 'god' or 'idealism' etcetera..
But how could the 'symmetry' of Platonic thought actually be an 'imperfection' or a wrench in the perfectly infinite program of Life itself? If we consider life as the formless non-observable and non-linear negentropic creative womb of existence as you like to mention, then why wouldn't there also be room for a 'deviant program' such as the Platonically spatialized civilizational constructs of geometry which lead to the creation of modern machinery? Even with all its rape, wars, and violences and some of the terrible consequences that have come with priviledged fossil fuel lifestyles of the narcissistic technophile suburbanite asshats like us? We kill the kids in Yemen when we vote for presidents. But did I choose to be born here? Is this all just free will?
In no way am I justifying these behaviors which i now consider anachronistic, terribly unconscious, and avoidable. But if we look to the animal kingdom there is violence as well like in the communities of primates that you have discussed before.
So my point is that we now understand that nature is also a cooperation of diverse forms of Life which ultimately arise (or co-arise) from the formless female awareness etc. So it isn't necessarily a competition to the death and an endless survival of the fittest which ultimately ends in suicide of the entire planet. And Chris is trying to help us NOT despair compeltely and destroy ourselves any further. It seems to me that EVERYTHING is a double edged sword which can be used for good or ill. Technology can destroy all life or give life. It is likely that the gang warfare with nuclear weapons and the destruction by earthquake of idiotic inventions like nuclear power plants will continue. All the fish are gone right? The whales are dying and they circulate the deep ocean biomass and mineral content throughout the entire ocean. If they die then the ocean dies. I know that you do not believe that technology can be of any benefit any longer as it destroys the planet. I agree. But I also believe that the powers that shouldn't be killed Eugene Mallove and Judy's student and that they are sitting on top of Schauberger-esque technologies, technologies which (if paired with localized regeneratively negentropic feedback loops, like farms using Masanobu Fukuoka's principles of no pesticide, no fertilizer, no imported mined fertilizers etc) would transform the way we lived on the planet.
Stars explode. The cosmos is violent. But it is also cooperative. if one animal population swells to unmanageable size, then another lifeform comes in to feed on them and balance things out.
