On Poonjaji and OM, Part 2: Sphurana (pulsation of Self) as the Sound of the Soundless and Form of the Formless: Blue Light

In the middle of the previous paragraph, which ends the letter, after the words “downward facing heart,” Bhagavan quotes the following verses from the Supplement to Reality in Forty Verses:
18. Between the two breasts, below the chest and above the stomach, there are six organs of various colours. Of these one, looking like a lily bud, is the Heart, two digits to the right (of the centre of the chest).
19. Its face is turned downwards. In the tiny hole within it there exists the dense darkness (of ignorance) together with desire and so on. All the major nerves are connected with it; it is the abode of breath, the mind and the light (of consciousness).
So in this article by Ramana Maharshi - and about Sphurana (pulsation of the Self) - we find the secret pinhole of the right side of the heart

So that is where the right side vagus nerve - the kundalini energy - goes from the reproductive energy to the right side of the heart.

Poonjaji, the most famous devotee of Ramana Maharshi, said he was fascinated by the word Sphurana, translated as pulsation or vibration, but he was never satisfied with any of the definitions.

I am rereading the biography of Poonjaji, "Nothing Ever Happened" - three volumes. I first read this book 20 years ago - before my intensive meditation training. Now I can really relate to what it is "pointing" to. My part one of this book review was back around Thanksgiving.

I focused on the blue light being experienced. This part two corroborates the blue light connection.

So now let's go into the quotes I transcribed.

This vibration, as OM. It is Brahman itself.

p. 302

But if there is no love, the repetition [japa] is mechanical.

p. 293

When I repeat the name [japa/OM] in reverse form, I understood the world."

p. 294

OM is the substratum name

Japa by voice, then mind, then thirdly synchronizing the mind and breath - so it is spontaneous and effortlessly automatic - even during dreaming and sleeping. This is Ajapa.

Then

"after ajapa, the next stage is anhat, an awareness of sound in the Heart."

First the Sound resolves into the silence of the Heart....even continuous ajapa will not take you to that place... You have to find a Master who has reached that place...Afterwards the souce of the sound merges in consciousness itself. That consciousness can not be touched or affected by anything in time. Then, even the Silence, goes back to the source and rests there.
p. 299
If you are pure and Holy enough, in the presence of such a being, the source will reveal itself to  you and pull you into itself. There is no other way.
OM, it immediately points to its source. Om is both pointer and the place that is pointed out. Saying OM takes you back to your source where you are That Itself."
p. 301
Names are nothing but different modifications of Om....That which is beyond the triple conception of time is Om... Knowledge of Om or Brahman is identical.

p. 301
That place is silence but in that silence Om is also repeating itself. This is a very subtle experience that few people have ever had... The sound of Om goes back to its source, which is silence, and repeats itself there... you can hear and feel the subtle vibration.
p. 302

So from Poonjaji we can see or hear the words about Om being something very special. From my previous research I have already revealed why Om is so special - it is from the same noncommutative phase secret of the three gunas as the Octave, Perfect Fifth and Perfect Fourth. I have given the sources previously. So this is also what Poonjaji means by reversing the form of OM and then it repeats itself but it is beyond Time. This is the precise and true meaning of the source of reality - as relativistic quantum physics has also revealed.

So Poonjaji had a vision that he had been St. Francis of Assisi from three life times ago.

And so now we describe some of his energy experiences

"I tried to search your mind but you wouldn't let me in." p. 97, Volume two.
My inner voice forbade me...a devi (female celestial being) appeared to him and told him to cancel..."
Ashrams there are run by unenlightened businessmen selling fake spirituality to a credulous public...it's a honeymoon centre.
She had a pure innocent mind and it didn't need much to push her into a state of happiness and ecstasy.

p. 154

By the time I had seen several monasteries and I had come to understand that these places were full of people who couldn't keep quiet."
p. 160 on Western Christianity

p. 168

Papaji protest a couple kissing in public.
After this experience some may go mad, some get stuck in bliss and happiness, and the third group, the best group, stay silent.
p. 203
Energy rushes up and then concentrates like an arrow at my third eye. Then it seems my intellect is surrendering. Then I start going crazy shaking, but you, my divine Master, shout...No!"
p. 204
Chant this sound [Om] and then look inside yourself to see how and where it arises. If you do it properly, you will find yourself being pulled into a SILENCE of the heart. In that place you will find true peace."
p. 227, volume 2
As long as you think that the mind is real you will always be occupied with organizing its contents.
p. 228
God is actually continually repeating your name, your own real name, but you don't listen. You don't hear." p. 239
God is not attainable by any sadhana because He is outside time.
It will pull you deeper and deeper into the Silence.
p. 240
Keep quiet.

You can not reject this Silence because this Silence is what you really are."
p. 243
Keeping quiet is the Siddhi, the accomplishment.
p. 244
In [deep dreamlesss] sleep there is just a timeless feeling of happiness...Destroy the 'I' in the waking state and be happy."
p. 246

the deeper layers where the past and future are seen simultaneously, and beyond them...where you no longer even know where you are."
p. 248

The thoughtless present moment is peace.

p. 249

In that silence you automatically identify yourself with the peace, the Supreme Power.
So Wang Liping in his Dragon Gate alchemy training was told that small animals would be attracted to his energy. In fact this is why the original human males all were required to do this spiritual N/om training - to attract animals for hunting them!

Every day a dog would come and sit in the front row. It would sit there in front of everyone, with its eyes closed, as if it were in deep meditation....It joins the group and follows them into the house...Every day it comes in with a different person or group."
p. 225

The Name is the Form of the Formless and Blueish Light
The Substratum or the Name, bluish in its transparency, can be called Krishna.
Krishna signifies attention, attention without an external object to attend to.
p. 277

I see the Silence. It even has a form. It is most active and attracting silence.

p. 277

The true Name is not said. It is eternally unuttered.

p. 281

Om is the substratum. Om is the prana, the life-breath itself...Om is your real nature."

p. 283

So these statements about the blue light as the form of the formless completely corroborate the claims of my blogbook article on the Blue Light of Blues Music.

"he just looked at me and put me into a kind of trance in which I could no longer think, speak, or even move. I was aware, in a distanct sort of way., of what was going on around me., but I couldn't think or formulate any questions."

p. 331

So here was have the Nirvikalpa samadhi state being described.

There is a real purity when the substratum has also gone.

p. 332

After a few minutes he exploded in anger, I had no idea what he said because in the first moment he got angry, everything inside me stopped. There were no thoughts, no feelings, no sensations and no world, but at the same time I was fully aware....he had entered nirvikalpa samadhi....completely stopped breathing...
The body can maintain itself without breathing while in nirvikalpa samadhi...the aura completely changes...I love to see the light that streams out of the aura when it happens.

Realization is beyond time. So Nothing Happened.

p. 343, volume 2

So This is called the Emptiness in Daoism. I did achieve this state -

Guru can transmit enough power and grace, enough to kill a body but not the latent tendencies of the mind.
p. 344

So just as the Taoist Yoga book explains - this "first half" of enlightenment causes confusion and can even cause madness and also it can wear off -
Dr. Gupta told me afterwards, that he thought I was dead because both my heart and breathing had stopped. Even Master told me, years later, that he thought I might have died."
p. 346

So the original human culture, the San Bushmen, explain that yes on an advanced level of healing there heart really does stop and they really do transcend death or experience death.

Don't become attached to blissful states; If you do, you will just create more desires.
 p. 358

So then the problem with the bliss produced is that it is a byproduct of the mind - and so it just increases the mind as an attachment. This is in contrast to the practice of just going deeper into Nirvikalpa Samadhi Emptiness - the source of reality.
