When you say the Mother is not the destroyer - what Daoism teaches is that creation and destruction happens at the same time as complementary opposites through light. So Light as shiva is the illusion of the ego and only when the light is turned back to its source, inward, does the ego then restore the destruction into new creation as new matter from the future. Light has no rest mass but it is matter that has relativistic mass from the future. So mass as physical matter is destroyed while through light, turned back to its source, at the same time, in the 5th dimension, there is hidden superluminal momentum from the future, that creates new matter as the "golden key" of alchemy - the yin matter from the future. So matter as mass of the past is destroyed at the same time that matter as mass of the future is created and the light turned back to its source experiences the eternal present as the Mother or the Qi - called "yuan qi" or original qi of yang and yin together at the same time. Yang is matter as substance (the alchemical pill of the body) and yin matter does not have substance - so it is virtual information. But the light transforms the yin matter back into yang matter - at the same time since the yin matter is from the future. So we can have precognition and we can change our past but only the present is real that can not be seen - the 5th dimension that only can be listened to and logically inferred. Shiva experiences the future or the past but has to turn back to Shakti as the nondual (not-two) - the three gunas of no guna means the rajas as the Perfect Fifth is actually the Tamas the Perfect Fourth transformed since matter with mass of the past is 3:4 as the Perfect Fourth with C to F geometry (overtone) but it originates from 2/3 as the Perfect Fifth (as the yin matter from the future - but the subharmonic or subconscious turned into the superconsciousness) so C to F geometry undertone with the yin matter as the new yang. And so the "one" as the light experiences a change in spacetime itself - the "zero" as the Emptiness - and the one does not exist as matter with mass but only as matter with light - and the matter with mass is actually spacetime itself as consciousness of the 5th dimension or pure time of the past and future together - creating space. So the Octave is the Sattva as the light turned back to its source since 3:4 is a transformed octave (the 3 is the new octave as the yin matter of 2/3 turned into 4/3 of C to F). As Ramana Maharshi says we use the mind to destroy the mind. "In order to understand what Bhagavan means by manōnāśa (the destruction, annihilation, elimination, ruin, disappearance or death of the mind), " this is the light accessing the future as reverse time or relativistic mass or "yin matter" at the same time as the destruction of the past - that the light had experienced as physical mass (rest mass, not relativistic mass). So Ramana Maharshi calls this the "three in one secret" - this is older than Brahmin Vedic philosophy - it is from music theory of the original human culture, the San Bushmen.

This is why in this verse Bhagavan places the emphasis on ‘the mind
knowing its own form of light’ by making it the subject of the sentence,
and relegates ‘having given up external viṣayas’ to a subsidiary position by making it a participle clause.
That is, giving up experiencing external viṣayas is a necessary condition for manōnāśa,
but not a sufficient condition, whereas the mind knowing its own form
of light is not only a necessary condition but also a sufficient
condition for manōnāśa. Therefore, what Bhagavan teaches us in this extremely important verse — the central gem of Upadēśa Undiyār
— is that in order to experience true self-knowledge, which alone can
destroy the mind, we must not only give up experiencing external viṣayas
but must also experience our own ‘form of light’ — our real nature,
which is the absolutely clear light of pure (content-free)
consciousness.
This "clear light" is actually the ether as Nada or sound - phonon oscillation energy-information - as I have detailed.
