Ignatius, the earliest church writer, no knowledge of New Testament & contradicts Paul - Dr. Jack Bull

No real in-depth analysis of Ignatius - Dr. Jack Bull did his Ph.D. on them

Ignatius is the earliest known Christian writer to emphasize loyalty to a single bishop in each city (or diocese) who is assisted by both presbyters (elders) and deacons. Earlier writings only mention either bishops or presbyters.  St. Ignatius (C. 35-107 AD) wrote seven letters on his way to Rome. These letters are the earliest Church writings in existence.

Ignatius was also against following Jewish law

Ignatius referred to Christians in the same way as Dionysian followers were referred to - "Christ-bearers" = "Temple-bearers" or "Basket-bearers" or "phallus-bearers"

Ignatius was first or 2nd Bishop of Antioch - after Peter
