So this is a synthetic fiber filter that is reusable - washable.
I read up on some studies.
I guess it's good for about four or five uses - I'm guessing 50,000 miles between washing.
* Oil-free 2-layer synthetic media
* 100% polyurethane construction will not deteriorate over time to heat or chemical exposure .
* Washable/reusable media with deepest pleats in the industry.
* Open consistent pleat distribution for excellent airflow.
* Progressive bump seal eliminates need for sealing gasket or grease.
It's $60 which is twice the cost of a normal filter that lasts 15 to 30K miles.
So the idea is that the car breathes better - gets more oxygen for the air throttle.
When I took out the throttle valve and I cleaned it then my MPG did improve and also the horsepower response.

Here's a study on air filters.
2µm
2 microns is the trapping level for dust on this filter - it got the top rating.
The DRYFLOW Synthetic filter's unique non-woven polyester filter media is independently tested at over 98% initial filtration efficiency (filters out 98.6% of airborne dust) (99.4% cumulative efficiency) based on SAE J276 JUN93 Fine Dust Air Cleaner Test Code procedures.
So according to this test - this Dryflow filter is 50% LESS restrictive in air flow than the typical Paper air filter! Wow.
