@Chris Till Cambridge University Press published a book called "the Evolution of Technology." It's quite ironic that left-brain dominance in humans co-evolved with right-hand dominance for technology use and then the mathematics of modern science is the structural drive of technology based on the expansion of dimensions.
So the irony being that all our convenience of technology is at the cost of the ecological crisis of abrupt global warming. Sure everyone loves the convenience of technology - especially cell phones - you are not a real human anymore without a "smart phone." hahaha. We love to think of technology as something that is neutral and we can pick and chose the "good" technology but in fact the mathematics is what drives the technology as a structural dynamic of logic. I call this the "surplus value of consciousness."
So people don't study the math as much as that is too abstract but rather are keen to go to a big DIY warehouse store to load up on "technology" as "improvement." hahaha. Most people have not lived very long without the use of a telephone or electricity or running water or heat - I had that "luxury" of living in Nature just south of the steepest mountain in the world - for four months when I was 19 years old.
Most people are not interested in studying the origin of the mathematical drive of technology - it's actually based on music theory and it ends in a mathematical concept called "noncommutativity" that most scientists know nothing about. haha.
It's the Achille's Heel of science! Evolution of technology? Hilarious - technology is the OPPOSITE of evolution as "biological annhilation" - a fine price to pay for the illusion that we can pick and choose our control over neutral technology. The mathematics of modern science is a "deep pre-established disharmony" as the secret "guiding evoltive principle" of science as math professor Luigi Borzacchini stated.
