As posted from Wudang West:
"Lao Ye" was the first hermit I ever met in Wudang. I remember learning a special etiquette before meeting the mountain ascetic. You don't just show up at the cave empty handed to ogle the guru and ask stupid questions, you come to serve - or as we say, "Show Up, Shut Up, Add Value."You find the same hand mudra taught as the secret of Dragon Gate alchemy!
Over the years I spent on that mountain, I would make it a point to visit the Bumblebee Hermit at least once a season, and often more amidst the colder Winter months. I would always bring vegetables, grains, and cooking oil for him to use, along with a ton of fresh fruit and snacks for his altar. One year, I took my mother to meet him. I remember she left crying. She had only heard legends about such masters in her childhood. She never knew that spiritual enlightenment was possible until she witnessed the depth behind his smile.
Have I been doing it wrong? This is the vid demonstration of I think the same hand mudra
Notice his left leg (yang) is on top to embrace the "yin" (lower body) for the proper meditation padmasana to store up the energy.
Yeah I think the Taoist Yoga book says to put your finger in the center of the palm instead of the 4th ring finger - but I think it's the same meridian line.
I was definitely doing the mudra wrong. I'm gonna consult the Taoist Yoga book again.
The thumb of the left hand should touch its middle finger and the right hand should be
placed under it (palm upward) with its thumb bent over the left palm;
this means the negative embracing the positive
This is what I was doing! But it's the opposite of what Wudang teaches. hilarious.
when the thumb of the left hand touches its middle finger and the
right hand is placed under it (palm upward) with its thumb bent over
the left palm, this is the negative embracing the positive.
So the negative is the yin of the dragon channels of the left hand....the positive is the tiger of the right hand....
The channels conveying vitality [qi] to
the left hand is an artery (called) the dragon [yin qi]; prenatal vitality [yuan qi] coming
from the heart passes through the wrist and carries blood to the
centre of the left palm, which is the dragon cavity [heart]. The channel
carrying blood and vitality from the right ventricle of the heart is a
vein which is linked with the duct of the testicles and the restraining
nerve [right side vagus nerve]; hence the centre of the right palm is the tiger cavity [lower tan t'ien]. When the dragon and tiger cavities are pressed with the middle fingers, the two
channels to the heart and lower abdomen are blocked

Pretty sure the mudra is on this website somewhere.

Found it!!
yes this is the OPPOSITE of the Wudang hand mudra. Hilarious. They say put the right hand on the outside....but the photo of the Daoist Hermit Lao Ye shows his right hand on the outside! So that Wudang youtube vid is wrong? strange.
