Qigong master Robert Peng as well as Chunyi Lin both focus on the central channel. The key secret of Chunyi Lin's recent "small universe commentary" talk that he sold - it is that on the front channel doing down the body - there should actually be focus on the central channel. That works to stop the loss of the yin qi up the front of the body when the eyes are open. Chunyi says while he is talking he is also doing the small universe meditation all the time. In the training it is actually each breath that circles the energy. So in breath is up the back and out breath is down the central channel.
The heart is called Yi [unified power] becuz when intent moves, spirit is agitated; qi is dispersed. Qi is the Mother of spirit; Spirit is the child of qi. The Mother as qi is the horse that guides/conducts the river chariot (yin spirit) in the water (yin jing). Once your mind is away from the lower Elixir Field, your Qi will be led away from it and be consumed. By gathering the Shen into the lower tan tien then the Qi follows it there. I'm asked to compare qigong neidan to Kriya yoga via the "small universe" meditation connection
But when the small
universe is truly open this is actually the "macrocosmic" orbit that is
explained in the Taoist Yoga book - so it's the Yuan Qi that is
circulating with the yin qi and yang qi as the opposite circulation (not
the normal breath). That's why in deep meditation the physical
breathing is minimal as well as the heart beating and instead you take
in yin qi externally to build up yang qi to then build up the Yuan Qi
via the "immortal" or "fetal" breathing. I didn't understand this
training when I achieved that level in practice so I never consciously
practiced immortal breathing - but that is also when the "bigu" or
energy feasting kicks in also. I achieved this by accident momentarily.
So
the lower tan t'ien as Yuan Qi is called "deep serenity" or the inner
cell but that is actually "neither inside nor outside" the body as Yuan
Qi. In Neidan (see Pregadio's translated books) this is explained as the
2nd half of the training and more complicated since the "macrocosmic
orbit" is actually holographic - meaning there is a constant energy
exchange of external yin qi blockages and then the required alchemical
purification via the yang shen of meditation and yin shen of the
sublimated yang qi, etc.
So as the Taoist Yoga book
explains at this stage - it's like keeping vigil over a dead body
because even if you achieve a "mature" immortal fetus for the "yang
shen" to manifest as bilocation - if you do not actually go forward with
this then you will eventually fall back if the purification is not
maintained - meaning the loss of the yang qi requires starting over to
build up the alchemical immortal fetus or pill, etc.
So Sri
Yukteswar was known to have achieved the "yang shen" or golden immortal
body that was mature - like Babaji. But Poonjaji points out that the
pollution on Earth is so bad now that this is not possible anymore -
even in the Himalayas.
Chunyi Lin also said it took him two
weeks to recover from the pollution in China. There has been a cleaning
up of the sulfur pollution from burning coal in China but this just
accelerates the destruction from global warming.
Kriya yoga is
still based on a Solar calendar focus along with the Vedic Brahmin
caste system but since it also relies on the "three gunas" then it is
more similar to a Dravidian alchemy training of the Tamil tradition as
well.
So the goal for Kriya Yoga was that there would be some
kind of spiritual evolution from the advancing of Western technology but
I don't think this is true.
These advanced alchemical powers
relied on patriarchy in the sense of the Brahmin Priests requiring 3
days of purification ritual just for making eye contact with a female.
So the Brahmacharya training did enable young males to do full lotus
meditation for 8 hours nonstop a day or so - and this was very
impressive at the time. I don't know if that type of training is going
on since as the equivalent of "virgin kungfu" in Shaolin training, it
requires the purification to be maintained into adulthood. Just as Yan
Xin and his teacher Haidan did not embrace the "modernization" of
Shaolin into a Wushu materialistic body training, so too would the true
Kriya yoga training require a very purified monastic environment. The
attempt of Kriya yoga to integrate into the householder lifestyle is
valiant but it does not align with what I call the "trajectory of
tantric technology" via "technofeminism." We find the same with the
qigong masters - the focus is on making enough money to support a fancy
high-tech lifestyle (flying in jets for vacations, yacht cruise ships,
fancy cars, clothes and dining, etc.)
Sorry I got off topic there. hahaha.
So in Kriya Yoga https://www.starcenter.com/ holy-science.pdf
they are claiming that after 1899 the external technology will become
spiritualized essentially. "the Ascending Dwapara Yuga" with the five
electrical properties of cosmic electricity increasingly understood.
Well I hope this is true but unfortunately our ecological crisis is
accelerating.
thanks,
drew
