Acoustic Alchemy

The heart is called Yi [unified power] becuz when intent moves, spirit is agitated; qi is dispersed. Qi is the Mother of spirit; Spirit is the child of qi. The Mother as qi is the horse that guides/conducts the river chariot (yin spirit) in the water (yin jing). Once your mind is away from the lower Elixir Field, your Qi will be led away from it and be consumed. By gathering the Shen into the lower tan tien then the Qi follows it there. Light of eyes descend as Yang fire inner yin qi line

My Middle School Latin Teacher Mary C. Preus secretly was a Ph.D. & she became a professor! I'm reading her Ph.D. Thesis! thanks

Just started reading my middle school Latin teacher's Ph.D. thesis from University of Minnesota!
Actually the only time I went to a Catholic church service was from Mrs. Preus! We also make Greek Baklava - (no better way to hook a kid on the classics!!).

Adjunct faculty needed at St. Thomas

If you are interested in being put on an adjunct faculty list for Latin or Greek at St. Thomas, please get in touch with Mary Preus--mcpreus@stthomas.ed

She must not have stayed at the "middle school" very long - I think she left at the end of the 80s and then she became a real professor....
She was also at University of Saint Thomas...and maybe taught at St. Kate's also?

On the next page is the handout I use for a Greek and Latin Derivative Project in the second half of Latin I in grade 8. I took the idea from an article by Mary Preus in the October 1988 issue of the New England Classical Newsletter. Students need a copy of the Greek alphabet. Then each student picks a card with a Latin and Greek word on it. For example: . I have had many students over the years fall in love with the Greek alphabet from doing this project.

Yeah I guess I really have to believe my middle school Latin teacher really did have a Ph.D.  hahahaha.
